Marc Marquez Triumphs at Aragon GP Amid Dramatic Bagnaia Crash
Marc Marquez showcased an exceptional performance by leading from start to finish at the MotoGP Aragon Grand Prix, while Pecco Bagnaia experienced a crash involving Alex Marquez.
At the Aragon Grand Prix in MotoGP, Marc Marquez claimed his first Grand Prix win in more than 1,000 days, achieving it in a commanding manner.
Dominating from start to finish, Marquez showcased outstanding speed and clinched victory, finishing nearly five seconds ahead of Jorge Martin.
Martin increased his lead in the championship to 23 points by securing second place, following Francesco Bagnaia's crash during a collision with Alex Marquez, who also fell during the incident.
Bagnaia was making significant progress through the pack, having started from a disadvantageous position due to spinning his rear tyre on the less clean part of the starting grid. He initially found himself in seventh place at the beginning, moved up to sixth following Miguel Oliveira's crash, advanced to fifth after Franco Morbidelli went off track, and then climbed to fourth by pressuring Pedro Acosta into an error at turn 16.
After a couple of circuits, while trying to overtake Marques who deviated from his line at the twelfth corner, Bagnaia managed to get in front as they approached the thirteenth turn. However, during this maneuver, Bagnaia and Marquez collided and both ended up crashing.
Following the race, Bagnaia was taken to the medical center, though there has been no news released regarding his status.
The collision between the two riders elevated Pedro Acosta to third position, though he finished nearly 15 seconds after the race leader.
Brad Binder secured the fourth position, while Enea Bastianini climbed to fifth place from a 14th position start. Franco Morbidelli claimed the sixth spot, followed by Fabio Di Giannantonio, Marco Bezzecchi, Alex Rins, and Jack Miller, who completed the top 10.
Fabio Quartararo experienced a crash, and Maverick Vinales likewise withdrew from the race.
Following the race, probes were initiated into Fabio Di Giannantonio, Jack Miller, and Raul Fernandez concerning the pressure of their front tyres.
