Luca Marini Eyes Redemption at Sachsenring After Assen Setback, Amid Honda’s Struggle for Points in 2024 MotoGP Season
Luca Marini claims they were primed for success in Assen despite ongoing challenges. He stated, "Assen held great promise for us, hence my goal is to capitalize on that potential and demonstrate our continuous improvement."
Luca Marini claims that Honda is advancing significantly, despite the lack of tangible outcomes in the 2024 MotoGP season to date.
Marini, along with the other three Honda riders, managed to qualify among the last five positions at Assen and then faced difficulties in earning points.
However, the Italian remains optimistic about unlocking more possibilities at Sachsenring this weekend.
Marini stated, "For the upcoming race in Germany, it's crucial we regain the fortune that eluded us in the previous weekend. My mindset remains unchanged for this weekend – I'm fully committed to putting in the effort and advancing further."
"In Assen, we demonstrated significant promise, thus my goal is to capitalize on that and exhibit the advancements we've achieved."
As negotiations with Honda neared conclusion, Joan Mir experienced yet another setback at Assen, failing to finish the race due to a crash.
Mir's failure to finish at Assen marks his fourth non-finish in the past six races, indicating that he has only completed half of the grand prix events up to this point in 2024.
"Mir stated, 'We're jumping right back into action, touching down in Germany just in time for the weekend.'"
"The Sachsenring circuit presents a distinct contrast to Assen, so it will be interesting to observe the outcomes there."
"I believe our strategy for the upcoming weekend will be akin to what we implemented in Assen, aiming to maximize the potential of our setup and solidifying several aspects before we head into this second hiatus."
