**”Lewis Hamilton in ‘Beast Mode’: Mark Webber Hails British GP Victory as Game-Changer”**
Lewis Hamilton compared to a 'shark sensing blood' after British GP victory
Lewis Hamilton has been showered with compliments by ex-Red Bull F1 racer Mark Webber.
Ex-Red Bull Formula 1 racer Mark Webber has showered accolades on Lewis Hamilton after his victory at the British Grand Prix.
Hamilton secured his first F1 win in more than two years as he crossed the finish line on Sunday.
The seven-time world champion achieved his first victory since his dramatic defeat at the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Hamilton's win was a heartfelt moment for him. He opened up about the psychological challenges and the effects the conclusion of the 2021 season had on him, which was quickly compounded by Mercedes' significant decline in performance.
Mark Webber, who competed with Red Bull between 2007 and 2013 and secured nine victories, likened Hamilton's performance to being in "beast mode," and drew a comparison to a "shark in the ocean."
Speaking on Channel 4, Webber described the situation as "beast mode on home ground." He explained that it was during the end of the initial stint, when there were discussions about incoming rain, that the individual sensed an opportunity. He likened this instinct to that of a shark detecting blood in the water.
Hamilton's thoughts are focused on seizing opportunities. He plans to challenge those around him, drawing on his extensive experience and impressive history of achievements.
"He took control of the race decisively, made crucial choices, and led the team with determination. He clearly communicated his needs and timing, ensuring he would achieve his goals. Staying composed was key."
"I greatly admire Lewis. Although I mentioned that he seems to be on the edge of achieving results and questioned his motivation and drive, when he shows even a glimpse of his potential, you need to step aside and watch."
Lewis Hamilton has achieved a record 104 victories in Formula 1 and has claimed seven championship titles, establishing himself as the most accomplished driver in the sport's history.
Nonetheless, Webber acknowledged that even with all of Hamilton's achievements in Formula 1, this recent victory will eliminate any lingering uncertainties he might have had about his ability to continue performing at the highest level of the sport.
"Given his high standards, that's clearly significant," Webber commented. "Additionally, for someone of his stature, with more than 100 victories to his name, he still possesses that obsessive pursuit of perfection and those small insecurities that athletes like Rafa Nadal mention. 'Am I still capable of this?'"
"Given the already high standards, when he performs his lift, it's going to be something to behold. This will be one of the most significant moments of his life."
"This might be his final victory, but from the moment the race began, he was focused and finished the task."
