KTM Stands Firm Behind Brad Binder Amid Challenges, Unveils 2025 MotoGP Line-Up
KTM explains their decision not to seek a substitute for Brad Binder
"Our philosophy is not to desert a rider when faced with such circumstances"
Brad Binder continues to have the support of KTM, even after a challenging season.
His challenges led to hushed conversations regarding his career prospects, yet KTM swiftly acted to dispel any notions of him being substituted.
Instead, Jack Miller, his team member, has been overshadowed as Pedro Acosta is set to join Binder in the 2025 MotoGP roster as an official KTM rider.
"Acosta is unquestionably a great asset. However, this does not imply that Brad is being left out," said Pierer Mobility Group board member Hubert Trunkenpolz to GPone.
This year has been particularly challenging for Brad, as he's encountered numerous minor setbacks.
"However, we never leave a rider stranded in such circumstances."
"It's clear that Binder possesses remarkable speed and has the capability to secure victories in MotoGP competitions."
"He has consistently demonstrated that with us across all three Grand Prix categories."
Currently, there are a couple of technical aspects that aren't aligning for Brad, so we need to assist him a bit with his motorcycle.
"We've taken a path with his motorcycle that has improved his grip, but it no longer provides him with the necessary feedback at the edge for achieving superior outcomes."
Binder remained in the running for the championship for a significant portion of the previous season, standing out as the top competitor riding a non-Ducati motorcycle.
In 2023, he secured a fourth-place finish but has not been able to maintain or surpass that level of performance this year.
Following his runner-up finish in the season's first race in Qatar, Binder has seldom been a challenge for the lead racers.
Young newcomer Acosta has emerged as the top-performing rider for KTM.
Binder has found it challenging to adapt to the RC16 in the latest races, losing his leading position during the Catalunya sprint.
