German MotoGP: Jorge Martin Secures Pole, Trackhouse Pair Take Front Row
Jorge Martin grabs the top spot at Sachsenring, edging out Miguel Oliveira and Raul Fernandez.
At the beginning of the Q2 MotoGP session, series leader Jorge Martin made an impressive entrance by breaking the all-time lap record on his second fast lap.
Martin clocked a time of 1:19.423, creating a gap of two-tenths of a second ahead of Raul Fernandez.
As the final laps commenced, Bagnaia swiftly opted to pull into the pit lane, aiming to prevent other racers from tailing him.
Building on his strong weekend performance, Miguel Oliveira surged into second place, trailing Martin.
Maverick Vinales, still struggling to hit peak performance during qualifying, experienced a significant fall at the tenth turn, causing him to kneel on the ground in pain.
Vinales was thrown off his motorcycle and struck by it before he hit the ground.
Alex Marquez had an accident, causing yellow flags to appear and preventing other riders from making any progress.
Marc Marquez Eliminated in Q1
Despite dealing with a broken finger and injured ribs, Marc Marquez began Q1 strong, quickly placing himself in the top two positions behind Jack Miller.
Marquez was momentarily relegated to third place when Raul Fernandez set the quickest time, but Marquez quickly moved up to second position, trailing only the Aprilia rider.
Similar to the events in Assen, the pace dropped at the front of the second stint when Marquez was almost struck by Jack Miller, who was speeding into the first turn.
Marquez came back to the pit lane but quickly returned to the track after Marco Bezzecchi bumped him to third place.
Starting his last effort with determination, Marquez's chances of moving on to Q2 were dashed at the second turn. This occurred when Stefan Bradl made a hazardous shift from the inner kerb to the outer edge just as Marquez and other riders were nearing.
