High-Stakes Duo: Marquez and Bagnaia’s Fiery Partnership to Test Ducati’s Unity in 2025
Concerns about the infamous garage 'wall' have been downplayed for Marc Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia.
"However, this doesn't guarantee smooth operations in the garage…"
The partnership between Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia next year may be fraught with tension, yet concerns about a repeat of Yamaha's infamous 'wall' have been dismissed.
In 2025, Ducati's official team will feature Marquez and Bagnaia as their riders, potentially forming the most prominent partnership since Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo teamed up for Yamaha.
The competition between Rossi and Lorenzo intensified to such an extent that a barrier had to be erected in their garage to keep their data apart, marking one of the most notorious moments in MotoGP history.
Broadcaster Simon Crafar expressed his belief that the situation between Marquez and Bagnaia next season is unlikely to escalate to that point.
He emphasized that Ducati will not tolerate the kind of rivalry that occurred between Rossi and Lorenzo: “Marc is going through it at the moment, and Pecco understands the situation. The data is accessible to everyone."
"Everyone collaborates towards a shared objective. Ultimately, it falls on you, the solo cyclist, to create an impact."
"That doesn’t guarantee that everything will go smoothly in the garage."
"I'd bet that things won't be straightforward in the garage!"
Jorge Martin of Pramac, who missed the chance to secure the factory seat for 2025 to Marc Marquez and will instead ride for Aprilia, holds an 18-point advantage going into this weekend's Dutch MotoGP.
The current titleholder, Bagnaia, holds the second position, while Marquez from the Gresini team is in third place and has yet to secure a victory on a Ducati.
Following a three-week hiatus, the paddock is buzzing with intense speculation on how Marquez and Bagnaia will manage as teammates next year.
"It will definitely be challenging," stated Crafar.
"Throughout history, top riders haven't necessarily been the best team players."
"Marc is determined to dominate his opponents and won't go down without a fight."
"During my era, it was Mick Doohan. Similarly, he would have been a difficult teammate! He aimed to completely dominate you!"
“It contributes to what makes them incredibly impressive and highly successful.
"I wish Ducati succeeds in optimizing the performance of both of their riders."
“I think they desire that.”
