Starting from the fourth spot, Bagnaia attempted to pass him.
It appeared as though the rear of Bagnaia's Ducati was closely attached to the front of Marquez's bike.
The two bicycles became entangled as they veered off course.
For a few moments, Bagnaia found himself trapped under Marquez's Ducati while they were skidding.
However, he stood up and made a motion towards Marquez, indicating that he was alright.
He left with his leathers ripped and scratched on his arm, but maybe lucky that the harm was not more severe.
Bagnaia visited the health facility for an examination.
Less than half an hour after their mishap, Bagnaia and Marquez were seen strolling through the paddock, having shed their racing suits, and appearing to be without injuries.
Stewards are looking into the incident.
Defending MotoGP champion Bagnaia began Sunday three points behind the current championship frontrunner, Jorge Martin.
