Francesco Bagnaia maintained his dominance at the Assen circuit by topping the final practice session for the 2024 Dutch MotoGP, with Maverick Vinales and Pedro Acosta following closely behind.
Marc Marquez had to make a pit stop following his out-lap because he had neglected to put on his knee sliders.
The Gresini Ducati rider wasn't slowed down and quickly moved into second place, just behind Francesco Bagnaia, the double Assen winner and Friday's leader.
GASGAS newcomer Acosta, who was only 15th in the standings on Friday, and Aprilia's Vinales managed to position themselves between the 2025 factory Ducati pair, as the riders opted for the hard front tire.
Following a challenging Friday due to setup problems, championship frontrunner Jorge Martin secured fifth place, narrowly beating his Pramac Ducati teammate Franco Morbidelli.
Marco Bezzecchi experienced a rapid crash at Turn 7, causing the Italian rider to yell in exasperation.
Raul Fernandez took longer to leave the scene of a similar crash at the same location just before the halfway point.
Following a severe crash at the last corner on Friday, an injured Aleix Espargaro resumed competing.
The Spanish driver narrowly avoided an incident caused by gravel scattered on the track from Fernandez's crash, promptly signaling for the debris to be cleared away.
After some time, red flags were finally raised to permit the cleaning of the track.
The first qualifying session is set to start now for riders who didn't make it into the top ten on Friday afternoon, such as Acosta and Fabio Quartararo.
