Fabio Quartararo’s Persistent Pushes Lead Yamaha to Pramac Deal for 2025 MotoGP Season
Fabio Quartararo acknowledges that he exerted considerable effort to persuade Yamaha to add two more motorcycles to the 2025 lineup.
Yamaha took a significant step for their MotoGP future by finalizing an agreement to partner with Pramac in 2025.
This indicates that Yamaha will assume control of the satellite Ducati team, resulting in four Yamaha motorcycles competing in the races next season.
Fabio Quartararo, who played a key role in encouraging Yamaha to take this step, was delighted with the announcement in Assen.
"I'm really thrilled, to be honest," Quartararo said. "They were crowned the best team last year, so joining them and having two additional Yamaha bikes will be incredible for improving speed and gathering more data."
“I put in a lot of effort over several months. I'm glad they are becoming part of our team.”
Before the last season and the ongoing 2024 season, Quartararo had only participated in a team consisting of four riders.
Conversely, Alex Rins, his teammate, has a greater familiarity with working in a factory team that does not have a satellite project to enhance the machine's performance.
Rins rode for Suzuki alongside Andrea Iannone and later Joan Mir. Last season, he switched to Honda, joining a team that included Marc Marquez, Mir, and Takaaki Nakagami.
Similar to Quartararo, Rins thinks it's crucial to add two more Yamaha motorcycles to the lineup.
Rins commented, "We now have additional information for the future, which I believe is positive news. Typically, I have only competed with one other bike on the track, although I didn't participate in many races last year."
"However, while with Suzuki this year and Yamaha, as well as the limited number of races I participated in last year with Honda, it was beneficial to gain insights from various riders and their distinct riding techniques. This will be significant."
