Ducati's technical chief hints at advancements for the GP25

The technical chief outlines changes made to the Ducati

The technical director at Ducati has offered some insights into their MotoGP motorcycle for the year 2025.

The GP25 is anticipated to be the leading vehicle on the circuit this year, building on the company's superior performance over the last three years.

Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia, both part of Ducati's factory team, are anticipated to compete fiercely for the MotoGP title using the GP25.

Fabio di Giannantonio from VR46 is the third racer who has the opportunity to use the motorcycle.

Check out this Instagram post from Crash MotoGP (@crashmotogp_).

"We're going to introduce numerous new elements," Davide Barana mentioned to Marca prior to the initial testing in Sepang.

"If they perform better, it's still essential to give it a shot. We experimented with a few in Barcelona, but it was just a single day, serving merely as an initial introduction."

"There will be an upgrade to the engine, which is a hybrid model. It was previously tested in Barcelona, and both riders have shared their feedback on the driving experience."

As a result, we brought an updated version to Sepang, differing from what we used at Montmelo.

"We also decided to use a new set of aerodynamic features, different from those shown during the presentation, as we typically employ the older aerodynamic designs there."

"Next, there is an updated frame, a modified swingarm, and an improved mechanism for lowering the motorcycle."

Michele Pirro, who has been Ducati's test rider for many years, conducted the three-day shakedown of their factory-spec motorcycle.

Pirro tested several different models of the Desmosedici, one of which seemed to feature an altered fairing design.

Barana went on to say, "There are a lot of things to do. To be honest, I'm not sure we'll have enough time to experience it all."

"However, according to Gigi, we're beginning with a strong foundation, so there's no immediate need to incorporate everything right away."

"We've taken an initial step focusing on the crucial elements. Certainly, the engine is a priority, as it must eventually be 'locked in'."

"Next is aerodynamics, as we need to approve a design setup at the start of the season."

"If the remaining feedback is favorable, we'll decide whether to implement it immediately or hold off until later in the season, such as at Jerez or subsequent races."

The scheduled three-day MotoGP preseason test in Sepang is set to take place from Wednesday, February 5, to Friday, February 7.

Starting in 2025, factory riders will have the opportunity to participate for the first time.

This implies that Marquez and Bagnaia will have their initial opportunity to test the enhanced GP25 following the postseason test in Barcelona.

KTM’s Bold Leap: Aki Ajo on the ‘Hectic’ Shakedown and Strategy for MotoGP Dominance

Published

on

By

EXCLUSIVE – Aki Ajo: “Busy” Shakedown, “numerous innovations” at KTM

“We are extremely pleased with the progress made at the factory”

Aki Ajo, the new team manager for Red Bull KTM MotoGP, stated that the Austrian manufacturer successfully achieved its winter development goals, introducing "numerous innovations" during the "busy" Sepang Shakedown test.

The progress of the RC16 project is uncertain as KTM is currently dealing with financial difficulties.

Factory test riders Dani Pedrosa and Pol Espargaro participated throughout the three days of the Shakedown. They tested some noticeable new components, like the rear seat unit and exhaust, as well as other parts that were concealed within the bike's structure.

When questioned by Crash.net about whether the winter development proceeded normally despite KTM's existing financial challenges, Ajo affirmed, "Yes, definitely."

"We are thrilled with the progress made at the factory in recent months. We believe that all planned tasks were completed, and possibly even exceeded expectations."

"Our [Shakedown] test was extremely busy as we had numerous new elements and various aspects that needed to be understood, validated, and examined."

"Testing will proceed for an additional three days at the Official test, with numerous items requiring verification."

"However, I believe we are currently in a favorable position."

"There are still numerous days of testing ahead, including in Buriram, but we've already seen several encouraging outcomes."

Espargaro, who led the times on the first day, ultimately secured the fifth position on the Shakedown leaderboard, trailing Yamaha's Fabio Quartararo by half a second. Pedrosa ended up in ninth place, 1.286 seconds behind the leader.

According to the transponder codes, Espargaro appeared to be riding two motorcycles that are set to be given to Brad Binder for the upcoming Official test. Meanwhile, Pedrosa was on the bikes designated for the new factory team rider, Pedro Acosta.

When asked if he believes KTM has the potential to compete with the current MotoGP champion Ducati, Ajo responded:

"We embody a competitive nature and naturally aim for victory. As you mentioned, Ducati previously set the standard and was the most formidable. Naturally, our goal is to close the gap and ultimately become the top contender."

"To start with, it's important to acknowledge that we're the most recent entrant in MotoGP, having joined in 2017, and for the past two years, we've been the second-leading manufacturer."

"We should view this optimistically, although we certainly desire additional progress."

"The level of competition is extremely high. In the past, we referred to certain teams within the factories as satellite teams, but now I'd describe them as secondary factory teams."

Acosta demonstrated the capabilities of KTM's secondary factory team, Tech3, by securing nine podium finishes and came close to beating Binder for the fifth spot in the world championship last year.

After Acosta's first season has concluded, the new Tech3 team will consist of seasoned riders Maverick Vinales and Enea Bastianini, both of whom have multiple race wins to their names. Ajo believes that this shift will allow KTM to adopt a somewhat different approach in 2025.

"When we have the opportunity to include riders such as Maverick and Enea in our team at Tech3, it influences our operations to some extent. It impacts the manner in which we conduct testing and how we optimize our resources."

Having newcomers on the team is always a positive thing. However, it might require some adjustments in the way we operate, including our testing procedures. When working with riders who have more experience, we might have the opportunity to test a greater variety of elements and make comparisons.

"A key objective for us is to strengthen our relationship with our second factory team, aiming for even greater closeness. Our goal is to operate as a unified entity."

He stated, "Essentially, we have a team of four factory riders. I'm already quite familiar with three of them, and we're in the process of developing a rapport with Enea."

"Having collaborated extensively with Brad, Pedro, and Maverick before, this is undoubtedly a positive aspect. We are familiar with one another, understand what to anticipate, and have mutual respect."

Ajo emphasized that advancement isn't solely about the quantity of new components; it's also about enhancing their utilization and improving team collaboration.

"We're focusing on every aspect, including the chassis, engine efficiency, and electronics," he stated. "However, from my perspective, it's not just about the technical specifications and innovations."

"My approach, which I believe is shared by our top technical experts, focuses on comprehending and enhancing our overall system."

"I'm referring not just to the bicycle and its technical aspects, but also to the collaboration among individuals, particularly in terms of how we provide everything needed for the riders and support them as effectively as we can."

The Sepang test, which includes all riders for the 2025 season, is scheduled from Wednesday through Friday.

For two decades, Peter has been a notable presence in the paddock, witnessing the arrival and departure of Valentino Rossi. He is currently at the center of the developments surrounding Suzuki's departure and the injury challenges faced by Marc Marquez.

Anticipation Builds for 2025 Sepang MotoGP Test: Ducati’s Aero Secrets and Yamaha’s V4 Developments Under Spotlight

Anticipation Surrounds Sepang Test Featuring Marc Marquez's Ducati Aerodynamics

This week's 2025 Sepang pre-season test is spotlighted in the latest episode of the Crash MotoGP Podcast.

The 2025 MotoGP season roars back with excitement as the initial official pre-season testing session is scheduled from March 5th to 7th in Malaysia.

Some test riders, newcomers, and concession riders have already hit the track at Sepang for the initial shakedown. However, this week, the full lineup for the 2025 season will gather in Malaysia for their first group session since November 19.

This pre-season is packed with excitement as there are numerous rider changes, three fresh additions to the lineup, and the ongoing pursuit to bridge the gap with Ducati.

Get the MotoGP Crash Podcast

In this episode of the Crash MotoGP Podcast, presented by Jordan Moreland, the crew discusses the anticipated outcomes of the upcoming test.

On the flip side, there are certain aspects that might not live up to expectations.

Ducati has garnered attention by making minor aerodynamic adjustments during the shakedown. However, Crash's Senior Journalist, Lewis Duncan, believes that the Italian company is unlikely to implement a major overhaul in their aerodynamic design at this time.

He mentioned that Gigi Dall'Igna often has a surprise in store, and he expected that a major change to the fairing would likely be unveiled by the time they reach Buriram.

Historically, during the final test, Gigi tends to introduce new changes. By that stage, it’s typically too late for the teams to react and say, "We need to swiftly adjust something."

All eyes will be on the Ducati team to observe their developments. It's known that the new chassis they tested last year was already an improvement.

"Imagine adding that to the package they already have, along with some improvements. Ducati is going to be very tough to defeat."

"It's always fascinating to observe Ducati's actions. The aerodynamic adjustments that were noticed seem to be just a preview. I doubt this will be the complete new aerodynamic setup that Dall'Igna hinted at."

"Ducati has historically been bold in making significant changes to various components, as this might be their final opportunity to do so."

"It's likely that this will be the final significant aerodynamic update, as it's difficult to foresee them investing a substantial development budget into a project that will be significantly reduced by 2027."

"I would have expected Gigi to create something remarkable for the final update of the aero era."

Yamaha's V4 Engine Appearance at Sepang?

The developments at Yamaha will be under careful observation this winter. However, according to Peter McLaren, the editor of Crash MotoGP, the V4 engine won't be making an appearance this week.

McLaren mentions that they are aware of its development and are eager to find out when it will be ready for the race track.

There was speculation that the date might coincide with this test event. The Yamaha unveiling took place on the first evening of the shakedown.

On the first day, only Andrea Dovizioso took the Yamaha test bikes for a ride, and they appeared quite similar to the existing inline-four engine model.

"You could both see and hear the difference when it comes to a V4 engine. This is why Yamaha has been quite open about it."

During my conversation with Paolo Pavesio, who has taken over the role previously held by Lin Jarvis, he candidly acknowledged the existence of the V4. However, he also mentioned that it is not yet prepared to be raced.

Dani Pedrosa’s Unexpected Gear Shift: A Subtle Splash at the Sepang Shakedown

Published

Dani Pedrosa unexpectedly changes his leathers brand

Quiet transition observed during Shakedown by KTM's test rider

Dani Pedrosa presented a somewhat unexpected appearance during the 2025 MotoGP Sepang Shakedown test.

On the first day of testing his manufacturer's bikes, Pedrosa stepped out of the KTM garage wearing racing leathers from a different brand.

Check out this Instagram post shared by Crash MotoGP (@crashmotogp_).

For the first time since 2006, he donned Dainese.

Switching from Alpinestars gear marks a significant change. Not long ago, while practicing with Pedro Acosta, Pedrosa was seen in Alpinestars apparel.

However, his subtly altered appearance was just one of several low-key highlights from the unbroadcasted rehearsal.

Pedrosa was actively engaged in his role as a test rider for KTM, working together with Pol Espargaro.

The rider who holds the record for being the most accomplished in MotoGP without securing a championship title is still highly regarded by fellow racers for his exceptional skills in bike development and his prowess on the racetrack.

In the previous year, Pedrosa participated solely in the Spanish MotoGP, where fellow competitors remarked on how the seasoned racer still possesses his abilities.

However, his real importance to KTM lies in his role in refining their motorcycle. As a member of their testing squad, he hit the track during the initial shakedown session, ahead of the return of the regular MotoGP riders for the official MotoGP test this week.

Rookies in the Fast Lane: MotoGP Newcomers Navigate Challenges Post-Sepang Shakedown

Published

on

By

MotoGP newcomers face numerous areas for improvement – are they ready for the challenge?

Fresh talents share their thoughts on the Sepang practice session.

Three new MotoGP riders are making significant progress in getting accustomed to their bikes.

In 2025, the premier class will welcome three newcomers: Ai Ogura from Trackhouse Aprilia, Fermin Aldeguer from Gresini Ducati, and Somkiat Chantra from LCR Honda.

They finished a three-day preliminary test session in Sepang ahead of most of their competitors, who are set to hit the track this week for the scheduled official testing.

The newcomers will soon face increased expectations to perform well from the start.

Ogura from Trackhouse commented, "We've had a strong beginning to the season. Our performance over the three days was commendable."

"Right now, anything that happens is seen as a good thing."

Ogura commented on this week's official test, stating, "I haven't spent much time on a MotoGP bike yet. There are countless aspects that need improvement!"

"As of now, there's no specific area I feel needs improvement."

"With each lap and every session, I work on enhancing the bike's performance. Our goal is to reach the summit."

Marc Marquez's successor at Gresini, Aldeguer, remarked, "I felt positive during the initial shakedown test, although the opening day presented challenges."

"From a physical standpoint, it was intense!"

"We made consistent progress with each lap, enhancing our performance significantly. We're reaching impressive times, which is crucial. We've maintained our momentum and are continuously improving."

"I've shaved two seconds off my time. However, the focus isn't on the timing. We need to maintain this level of composure and work on enhancing our performance alongside the top riders under improved conditions."

"Riding MotoGP motorcycles is more challenging than handling Moto2 ones. Additionally, the duration of a MotoGP race is extended."

I need to keep improving my fitness and make my way to Thailand.

Check out this Instagram post from Crash MotoGP (@crashmotogp_).

Chantra is set to join MotoGP riding what is considered the least competitive motorcycle in the lineup. He remarked, "During the two days at the shakedown, we focused on figuring out the bike's performance. The first day went well as I got the chance to test the new machine."

"I attempted to understand the functioning of the bike and its electronic systems. It was not the same as the test conducted in Barcelona."

"During the second day, we conducted a new test which resulted in better lap times."

"However, I remain distant."

Chantra discussed ways to enhance performance by saying, "Upon reviewing my teammate's data, as well as Taka's, I noticed significant losses in Sectors 1, 2, and 3. However, I performed well in Sector 4."

"I experienced a significant reduction in speed through the corners. In the stop-and-go sections, the performance was comparable."

The trio of newcomers is set to participate alongside the rest of the MotoGP competitors during the three-day testing session at Sepang, scheduled for February 5th through 7th this week.

Valentino Rossi’s Strategic Wisdom: Three Tips for Pecco Bagnaia in the Face of Marc Marquez Rivalry

Published

on

By

Valentino Rossi offers Pecco Bagnaia three pieces of advice on how to handle Marc Marquez. The renowned MotoGP figure had an intense competition with Marquez in the past.

Valentino Rossi has advised Francesco Bagnaia to avoid "getting caught in pitfalls" while competing against his future Ducati MotoGP teammate, Marc Marquez, in 2025.

This year, Marquez joins the Ducati factory team with two-time world champion Bagnaia, having turned down an offer for a factory ride with the Pramac team.

Last year, Bagnaia and Marquez clashed multiple times during races, with the most significant incident occurring at the Portuguese Grand Prix. This collision resulted in a heated discussion between the two outside the stewards' office.

Explore further: Valentino Rossi's pursuit of a tenth world championship

Rossi has been engaged in a personal conflict with Marquez since 2015, as he suspects that his quest for the championship was intentionally undermined by the younger competitor.

To this day, Rossi continues to uphold this belief, which resurfaced last year when he appeared on a podcast hosted by former Moto3 racer Andrea Migno.

In a recent conversation with Corriere della Serra, Rossi was questioned about the three pieces of advice he would offer his protégé to get ready for a face-off with Marquez in 2025.

"There are times when securing a victory is crucial, and other times when it's important just to earn some points," he stated.

"He didn't achieve that last year; if he had, he would have secured his third world championship."

"Be cautious of pitfalls and psychological tactics; avoid being influenced by your colleague."

"Enjoy yourself in duels and attempt what seems impossible."

Last season, Bagnaia fell short of securing a third championship title by just 10 points, losing to his competitor Jorge Martin from Pramac Ducati. His quest for the title was hindered by eight instances where he failed to score points throughout the season.

Valentino Rossi's career in MotoGP was marked by several notable rivalries with fellow racers such as Sete Gibernau, Max Biaggi, and Jorge Lorenzo.

Discussing these rivalries, Rossi remarked, “Competing with them is filled with intense competitive animosity.”

However, when you pause, you continue to hold respect for those who experienced emotions and stress alongside you.

"The situation is similar with Stoner. Whenever I come across Gibernau or Lorenzo, I experience a sense of satisfaction; they were rivals who never crossed a certain threshold of aggression."

During the winter season, Rossi extended an invitation to Stoner to visit his VR46 Ranch located in Tavullia for a day dedicated to riding.

The driver, who has claimed victory in nine grand prix races, is set to begin his second complete season in the World Endurance Championship, competing in the LMGT3 category with WRT BMW this year.

Before this event, Rossi began his car racing season by securing a second-place finish in the Bathurst 12 Hour the previous weekend.

Mental and Technical Mastery: Miguel Oliveira’s Insights on Adapting to New MotoGP Bikes

Published

on

By

Title: A MotoGP Rider's Crucial Don’ts When Switching Bikes

"It's both a technical and psychological challenge."

Miguel Oliveira has shared insights on the mistakes a rider should avoid when transitioning to a different MotoGP bike, a challenge he will face in 2025 with his move to Pramac Yamaha.

In 2025, Oliveira will start racing with Pramac as Yamaha's first satellite team partner. Prior to this, he spent two years riding an Aprilia with RNF before moving on to Trackhouse Racing.

After spending a day on the M1 in Barcelona last November, Oliveira is set to hit the track again this week at the Sepang pre-season event to further his understanding of the Yamaha.

After transitioning from KTM to Aprilia in 2023, Oliveira shared with Crash.net his insights on the pitfalls a rider should avoid when adjusting to a different bike.

He explained that while there is a technical aspect, there is also a mental component, emphasizing that one should never attempt to recreate past experiences.

"Mentally, this can lead you into a situation where you are chasing a sensation that is unattainable with the new bike."

"There are times when it's necessary to compromise and adjust your riding technique more, rather than attempting to modify the bike to suit you."

"If the bicycle restricts you from performing certain actions, you need to learn and understand its limitations in specific situations to push it to its full potential."

Miguel Oliveira has expressed his surprise at the impressive front-end performance of the Yamaha M1, especially when compared to the Aprilia, despite having only spent a short amount of time with the Yamaha.

He mentioned that the way the Yamaha handled turns was impressive, which is something people frequently highlight.

The front of the bike was sturdy and reliable, which was satisfactory. This was unexpected for me, as I believed my bike already had an excellent front end and handled turns efficiently.

"This particular instance was rather unexpected."

"We recognize that there is significant potential for enhancement, specifically in terms of speed and braking locations."

"I believe things are moving positively. We'll be trying out the latest Yamaha model at this location, which seems to be a promising advancement compared to what I experienced in Barcelona."

Jack Miller Hails Yamaha’s Unyielding Effort on 2025 MotoGP Bike: A New Chapter Begins

Published

Jack Miller: Yamaha is Thoroughly Exploring Options for 2025 MotoGP Bike

Australian Rider Commends Yamaha's Off-Season Efforts Before Upcoming Season

Jack Miller has mentioned that Yamaha is thoroughly exploring every possible avenue in the development of its 2025 MotoGP motorcycle as the pre-season testing phase kicks off.

In 2025, the Australian racer will rejoin the Pramac team following a challenging two-year stint with the factory KTM team, and will experience riding a Yamaha bike for the first time in his career.

This week, Miller has already participated in the Sepang shakedown event. He joins the Yamaha team as part of a developmental phase and is optimistic about the progress the engineers have made during the winter months.

He stated to Sport TV that he thinks the team has put in a tremendous amount of effort, starting from their testing session in Barcelona at the conclusion of the previous season up to their current progress.

"We are currently in the phase of constructing something new, and I am confident that many challenging and labor-intensive days are on the horizon."

"Luckily, we have additional days for testing and a steady supply of parts from Yamaha."

"They are making every possible effort to restore the M1 to its rightful place at the forefront."

Miller expresses that it is "a great privilege" to ride for Yamaha, given his admiration for the brand since childhood. He is also eager to "make proud those individuals" who have given him an opportunity.

At one point last year, it seemed that Miller's MotoGP career had come to an end until an opportunity opened up with the Pramac team during the summer.

"I'm excited about it," he remarked.

"Facing a fresh challenge by attempting to master riding a different bicycle."

"I'm eagerly anticipating it, and returning to work with the Pramac team feels like coming home; they've been incredibly welcoming."

"I'm eager to make those who have taken a risk on me feel proud of their decision."

Collaborating with Yamaha brings great joy. It's an enormous company that I admired greatly during my youth. Having the opportunity to ride the M1 now is a tremendous privilege for me.

"I am eager to play a part in Yamaha's future achievements."

The initial sanctioned pre-season testing is set to commence this week, taking place from February 5th to 7th in Malaysia. This will be followed by two concluding days of testing in Thailand on February 12th and 13th.

As a concession manufacturer, Yamaha has the opportunity to conduct tests with its race riders throughout the season without restrictions.

Rivals Turned Teammates: Marquez and Bagnaia Share Lessons from the Past as Ducati’s Dream Team Gears Up for MotoGP Season

Published

on

By

Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia share insights on their most impactful teammates. "Every session was a masterclass," they remarked.

This MotoGP season, the spotlight will be on Ducati Lenovo's so-called 'dream team,' as they bring together their two-time champion Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez, a six-time titleholder with Honda.

Some individuals, like Luca Marini, think the competition will elevate both parties to greater heights.

Marini mentioned to Crash.net that having Pecco and Marc on the same team will drive them to enhance their skills by competing against one another. He added that if Aprilia and KTM cannot match Ducati's performance, it might result in just those two battling for the win in each race.

Which colleagues did Bagnaia and Marquez gain the most knowledge from in previous years?

Bagnaia highlighted Jorge Martin, who he sees as a future title competitor and the 2024 champion, along with Jack Miller, his initial team-mate in MotoGP.

Bagnaia recalled his initial experience of gaining insight from a fellow racer during his time in Moto3. He mentioned that when Jorge Martin joined the team, their first test session took place in wet conditions. Martin's impressive speed in the rain allowed Bagnaia to learn numerous techniques by observing him.

"In the realm of MotoGP, it's essential to mention Jack Miller. Together, we worked remarkably well to create an outstanding atmosphere in the pit and the garage."

In his debut MotoGP season in 2019, Bagnaia teamed up with Miller at Pramac. The duo spent four years as teammates and were both elevated to the main Ducati squad for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

Bagnaia expressed his belief that both of them played a significant role in shaping Ducati into what it is today.

Miller transitioned to KTM after Enea Bastianini took his spot, and now Marquez is set to succeed the Italian rider in 2025.

From his championship-winning MotoGP debut in 2013 until the conclusion of 2018, Marquez rode alongside Dani Pedrosa as his teammate at Repsol Honda.

Marquez expressed that Dani Pedrosa was the teammate from whom he gained the most knowledge.

Each session felt like an advanced lesson when you enter MotoGP and have Dani Pedrosa as your teammate.

"The experience was incredible and I gained a lot of knowledge."

Marquez pointed out parallels between teaming up with Pedrosa at Repsol Honda and his current venture with Bagnaia at Ducati Lenovo.

"It's not exactly the same scenario, but it's somewhat comparable," Marquez mentioned.

"I find myself in a situation where there's a racer who has secured two world championship titles and is incredibly quick. This racer has exclusively ridden a Ducati, giving him extensive knowledge on how to address any issues with the bike."

Marquez mentioned, "It's common to observe that on Fridays, Pecco may not be leading, but he quickly becomes the fastest on the track from one practice session to the next. I aim to take lessons from him, given his vast experience with a Ducati motorcycle."

Bagnaia aims to understand how Marquez excels in challenging circumstances.

"Regarding Marc, it's definitely something fresh… However, what I believe and understand is that having a rider of his caliber—a champion with eight world titles who has clinched victories even under challenging circumstances and without the best equipment—serves as a huge inspiration for me. It motivates me to learn how to stay competitive even when conditions are far from perfect."

VR46 Denies Acosta Rumors Amid KTM’s Financial Turmoil: Uccio Salucci Sets the Record Straight

VR46 Clarifies Stance Amid Speculation Surrounding Pedro Acosta

Uccio Salucci Addresses Speculations About a Possible Partnership Between Acosta and VR46

Uccio Salucci has addressed the speculation regarding Pedro Acosta potentially joining the VR46 MotoGP team, stating, "We never had a serious conversation about this within our team."

Acosta, who was a standout rookie last year, has secured a contract to remain a factory KTM rider starting in the 2025 season. He has been linked with the Austrian company for his entire grand prix career.

Due to KTM's present financial difficulties and the unclear prospects of its MotoGP involvement, there are rumors suggesting that Acosta may already be considering an exit strategy for 2026.

In recent weeks, a rumor has surfaced about the possibility of a move to the VR46 team on a satellite Ducati. This speculation has gained momentum after Acosta participated in the 100Km of Champions event hosted by Valentino Rossi in Tavullia earlier this month.

The manager of the VR46 team, Salucci, has stepped forward to dismiss these speculations, emphasizing that no substantial conversations have occurred regarding the matter.

"To start, I want to apologize for the news regarding KTM, as we actually share a strong relationship with them," he stated.

Our partnership began in 2014 in Moto3, involving [Stefan] Pierer, [Pit] Beirer, and the entire KTM board and management team.

"I am not fond of this narrative, yet regrettably, that's the reality."

"The second point to mention is that Acosta is an excellent motorcyclist."

"At the moment, he might be the top talent in MotoGP. However, it's still premature to discuss this, and honestly, I haven't had any serious conversations about Acosta joining our team."

Lately, Acosta has openly stated that the KTM circumstances do not influence his near-term plans in MotoGP.

Facing a financial crisis, KTM has entered self-administration and begun a restructuring process to rescue the business.

The latest news from Austria reveals that 23 prospective investors have shown interest in providing financial support to the company.

An important gathering is scheduled for February 25, during which the creditors will cast their votes on the proposed restructuring plan. This plan proposes that they receive 30% of the outstanding debts owed to them by KTM.

Although this is the legally mandated minimum sum, it is reported that some creditors are dissatisfied with it.

KTM currently has debts amounting to €2.2 billion.

Marc Marquez Turns Down Monster Energy Deal: Loyalty to Red Bull and Strategic Moves in MotoGP Sponsorship

Published

Marc Marquez reportedly turned down a sponsorship offer from Monster

The eight-time world champion received a proposal for a partnership with Monster.

Marc Marquez, a rider for the factory Ducati team in MotoGP, reportedly received an offer for a personal sponsorship from Monster Energy, similar to the one Francesco Bagnaia has. However, he turned it down.

The athlete, who has won the grand prix world championship eight times, has been associated with Red Bull for a considerable period. The Austrian energy drink company had a significant presence on his crash helmet, a partnership that lasted until the conclusion of last season.

After joining the factory Ducati team, Marquez decided to end his individual contract with Red Bull as a gesture of respect towards the brand.

The official Ducati team is backed by Monster Energy, and its branding is prominently displayed on the motorcycles, the riders' suits, and the team's clothing.

In 2025, Marquez will wear all of these items, though his helmet won't display any Monster logos.

Motorsport.com reported that Marquez was presented with an offer similar to the one team-mate Bagnaia received from Monster, but he chose not to accept it.

This decision was made once more to honor Red Bull, and it keeps the possibility open for the partnership to be reestablished later on.

According to Motorsport.com, Ducati anticipated that Red Bull would reach out regarding the year 2025, but the conversation began later than planned.

Marquez has swapped out the Red Bull logos on his helmet and replaced them with Estrella Galicia stickers.

According to El Periodico, Lenovo, which sponsors Ducati, conducted an interesting study last year. The study recommended that the manufacturer should choose Marquez instead of Jorge Martin because of Marquez's international reputation.

Naturally, this factor did not influence Ducati's final decision.

Marquez's decision to publicly decline the offer of a factory Ducati ride with the Pramac team for the 2025 season prompted the brand to reverse its original plan to advance Martin.

In an article by El Periodico, Gresini’s director of commercial and marketing, Carlo Merlini, is cited saying: “One thing is certain, and we saw it for ourselves last year.

"Marc provides more than just winning and performing well; he significantly raises your profile."

"Marc stands out with unmatched visibility and allure. His charismatic nature paves the way for securing sponsors and gaining media attention."

Honda’s Leadership Void: Struggles, Strategies, and the Search for Success in MotoGP

Published

Honda faces criticism for lacking leadership as pessimistic forecasts emerge. "I don't observe Honda taking any concrete actions…"

The recent episode of the Crash MotoGP podcast focused significantly on Honda's outlook for the year 2025.

Honda has named Romano Albesiano as their new technical director, with Aleix Espargaro and Takaaki Nakagami serving as test riders.

The team's factory lineup will once more include Luca Marini and Joan Mir, the latter having faced significant challenges in 2024. Meanwhile, Johann Zarco will continue with LCR, partnered with newcomer Somkiat Chantra.

According to our specialists, the issues facing the manufacturer are more significant and occur at a higher level.

Lewis Duncan mentioned on our podcast that Honda appears to be missing a leading figure or 'head coach,' similar to the role Max Bartolini has taken on with Yamaha.

"They have Alberto Puig, who acts like a bulldog in defending the rider and the circumstances, but he lacks the ability to bring the riders together."

Joan Mir seems constantly unhappy. One wonders why he decided to renew his contract. He claims he didn't want to end things in that manner. However, if he's not finding joy in it and remains consistently pessimistic…

"Honda lacks a figurehead. Perhaps Johann Zarco could assume this position, as he demonstrated better communication skills, showed more composure, and was undoubtedly more competitive compared to the other riders."

Understanding Honda's future direction and the influence Romano Albesiano might exert is challenging. Since the original framework wasn't developed by him, he'll need to dedicate time to unraveling it.

"I haven't observed any concrete advancements from Honda this year. Towards the close of last year, there were minor indications of improvement, but these were seen solely with Zarco."

"If Honda manages to score points at each race weekend, it would be considered a triumph. However, reaching the potential level of Yamaha seems challenging."

Honda has identified a crucial aspect that needs enhancement. Peter McLaren commented, "To what extent will Albesiano and Aleix impact the development of the motorcycle?"

"Recruiting new team members is important. Honda has brought on a significant number of engineers and is collaborating with Kalex, yet this hasn't significantly improved the performance of the motorcycle."

The main challenge for Honda initially is to avoid regressing, as happened in the previous year. Taking the wrong path during testing was what hindered the first half of last season.

"If they are able to continue from the point where they paused…"

Experienced riders like Zarco and Marini are expected to be beneficial as well.

When questioned about the distinctions between being a factory rider for Ducati and Honda, Marc Marquez was asked to explain.

"He mentioned the word 'communication'. Gigi Dall’Igna is the one who unifies everything at Ducati."

"Honda needs to improve in these specific areas."

The essence of the situation depends on the groundwork they established through testing. Aleix has participated in testing sessions this year and had several opportunities last year as well.

"After the races in Buriram and Sepang, we will understand the nature of the progress. Are they set to make a significant advancement?"

"There might be an opportunity for Albesiano to examine the bike and suggest 'try it this way,' potentially shaving a few tenths off each lap. This is within the realm of possibility."

"Achieving 12th place in the championship as the highest-ranked Honda would be considered a solid outcome. Last year, Zarco finished in 17th position."

It's possible to achieve occasional standout performances in MotoGP, as demonstrated by Alex Rins at the Circuit of the Americas.

"However, in practical terms, they need to approach this gradually, without regressing as the initial priority."

Valentino Rossi reveals significant bruising and an inspiring note as the racing season starts again. Valentino Rossi draws inspiration from Steve McQueen.

Four years have passed since Valentino Rossi retired from MotoGP, and he is now more occupied than ever.

Although the present MotoGP riders will not participate until the Sepang test next weekend and will not compete until February 28, The Doctor is getting ready to race once more.

Rossi has detailed the various happenings in his hectic life from the end of last year's racing season until the new one begins this weekend.

Check out this Instagram post from Valentino Rossi, known by his handle @valeyellow46.

This involves a large bruise on the inner part of his leg that he had never shown previously.

Rossi posted photos featuring his girlfriend Francesca, as well as snapshots of him performing as a DJ during a party.

He shared insights into his personal family experiences and his current career activities, which featured his participation in the 100km of Champions event held in Tavullia earlier this month. In this event, he secured second place together with Luca Marini.

The central highlight was that Rossi and his partner, Francesca, celebrated the arrival of their second child, Gabriella, in the winter season.

He is now prepared to return to the racing scene.

In a social media post, Rossi quoted Steve McQueen, saying, "Racing is life, everything else is just waiting." He noted that while the statement might be a bit over the top, it certainly makes an impact.

Here's a summary of my experiences from the final race in Jeddah in 2024 up to yesterday.

"Indeed, the 2025 season is kicking off this weekend in Australia with the Bathurst 12 Hour race on the challenging Mount Panorama circuit."

At the age of 45, Rossi is set to participate in the Bathurst 12 Hours, marking the beginning of his journey in four-wheel racing.

Driving for Team WRT in a BMW, Rossi is set to compete in his third endurance race in Australia. Last year, he achieved his highest finish yet, securing fifth place.

This season, Rossi is focusing on the LMGT3 category in the World Endurance Championship, where he will be competing for BMW's official team.
