Ducati Counters Pramac’s Departure Claims, Affirms Commitment to Young Talent Amid MotoGP Team Shuffle
Ducati responds to Pramac's assertion that the "young riders program" has been abandoned
"Our approach remains the same"
Ducati has refuted statements from the Pramac team leader suggesting that they have ceased their practice of advancing young talent.
During the Dutch MotoGP, Pramac revealed their decision to end a 20-year partnership with Ducati, opting to partner with Yamaha as a satellite team in the upcoming season.
"Pramac's owner, Paolo Campinoti, expressed to TNT Sports that they are committed to the initiative of supporting young riders, a commitment he feels Ducati no longer shares."
The decision by Ducati to select Marc Marquez for their 2025 official squad, over Jorge Martin or Enea Bastianini, was unmistakably highlighted.
Ducati's chief Gigi Dall'Igna expressed his gratitude to Sky Italia, stating, "First and foremost, I'd like to extend my thanks to Pramac and Paolo for the incredible journey we've had and the remarkable achievements we've accomplished.
Ducati's growth can also be attributed to their input, as we have collectively enhanced our motorcycle and the skills of those who pilot it alongside them.
"They have undoubtedly performed a significant role, and it saddens us greatly, both professionally and personally, to part with such a wonderful and vital entity.
That being said, it's unfortunate, but it seemed like everyone was hoping for our team to be disqualified next year, and ultimately, that's exactly what occurred.
"Our ethos remains unchanged, with a strong commitment to nurturing young talent, evidenced by our recent agreement with Fermin Aldeguer, who we believe has a promising future ahead."
"We aim to replicate the same approach with him that we successfully implemented with Pecco, Enea, and Martin."
"It's evident that our collaboration will not continue with Pramac, but instead, we'll be partnering with a different team.
"We're transitioning to having three groups instead of four. Life progresses, and we must advance accordingly."
Young Moto2 sensation Aldeguer has inked a deal to ascend to MotoGP next season, joining forces with Ducati.
It had been assumed he was heading to Pramac, but that expectation has changed with the decision to move to Yamaha instead.
Consequently, Aldeguer needs to be integrated into either the Gresini or VR46 squads.
Ducati is faced with the decision of determining the future of the factory motorcycles currently assigned to Pramac riders Martin and his colleague Franco Morbidelli for this racing season.
