Ducati Bids Farewell to Pramac After 20 Years of Success, As Team Switches to Yamaha
Ducati expresses gratitude to Pramac, apologizing for the inability to maintain their partnership.
‘We regret that our collaboration cannot go on in the future. Nevertheless, our focus must remain on the present…’
Next season, Ducati's participation in MotoGP will decrease from eight riders to six. This change comes after Pramac, Ducati's longest-standing and most accomplished satellite team, revealed that it will transition to Yamaha.
Over their two-decade partnership with Desmosedicis, Pramac has secured eight wins, 55 podium finishes, and 20 pole positions. They also clinched the 2023 teams' championship and saw Jorge Martin finish as the runner-up in the riders' world championship.
Ducati's CEO, Claudio Domenicali, expressed his gratitude to Paolo Campinoti for their years of teamwork. Domenicali highlighted that they had accomplished significant successes driven by passion and enthusiasm, all within a context of mutual respect and cooperation.
"Regrettably, we couldn't reach an agreement to prolong this collaboration, but the respect and camaraderie we share remain completely unaffected and will endure. Wishing Paolo and his team all the best for the future."
Gigi Dall’Igna, the General Manager of Ducati Corse, expressed his gratitude to Paolo Campinoti and the Pramac Racing team for their commitment, dedication, and the excellent work they have accomplished together over the past two decades.
"Our partnership began in 2005, and we've reached significant achievements together. Pramac Racing was the first non-factory Ducati team to secure a victory in MotoGP and clinched the Teams’ World Championship in 2023, along with multiple Best Independent Team awards."
“We regret to inform you that we are unable to proceed together moving forward.
“At this moment, it is crucial to concentrate on the present: our priority is to give our utmost support to Pramac Racing, as well as riders Jorge Martín and Franco Morbidelli, to secure more significant achievements this season.”
Martin is presently ahead of reigning world champion Francesco Bagnaia of the factory Ducati team by 18 points in the 2024 rankings.
Next season, the young Spanish star will be departing from Ducati and joining Aprilia, following the announcement that Marc Marquez will team up with Bagnaia in 2025.
