Alex Marquez Outshines Brother Marc at Sepang: A Stellar GP24 Performance Raises Ducati Questions

Published

on

By

"I have to give it a shot!": Alex Marquez outpaces Marc in Sepang test 'Sprint'

"When I saw Marc's performance, it was incredibly quick. So I thought, 'Alright, I have to try and match it.'"

In his first appearance on the GP24 last November during the Barcelona test, Alex Marquez set the fastest time. He replicated this achievement by topping the timing charts at the conclusion of the three-day MotoGP test in Sepang.

However, Marquez demonstrated speed not just on a single lap.

During a performance that may lead Ducati to reconsider the efficiency of the new GP25 components, or potentially switch back to the GP24 engine, Alex managed to surpass the 10-lap Sprint simulation times set by factory riders Francesco Bagnaia and his sibling, Marc Marquez.

"Today was an exceptionally good day," Alex said with a smile. "The initial two days went well, but today exceeded them both. Altogether, we performed excellently."

Completing a single lap is crucial, as it demonstrates that the motorcycle is performing well when pushed to its limits during a time trial.

"Most notably, our pacing is impressive. The Sprint practice went exceptionally well."

In last November's Malaysian Grand Prix Sprint, Alex, racing as Marc's teammate on GP23s, completed the race 5.6 seconds after Marc.

On this occasion, he completed the 10 laps on the GP24, finishing 0.2 seconds ahead of Marc.

When questioned about whether he took more satisfaction from the Sprint simulation compared to topping the one-lap timing charts, Alex responded:

"Absolutely! While I was in the pit, I watched Pecco's simulation. Afterward, I observed Marc's, and I thought, 'He's really going for it!' It was incredibly quick. So I decided, 'I have to give it my all.'"

"I gave it my all. We were neck and neck, and finally, after 10 laps, I managed to be 0.2 seconds quicker than him!"

Marc humorously saluted his brother with a middle finger gesture as he came back to the pits, continuing the playful banter from Barcelona regarding which sibling would outperform the other.

"It's great to create a simulation that is both consistent and quick," Alex mentioned.

"All seems great, but we're at Sepang. I really enjoy this circuit and have consistently been quick here."

He quipped, "Having all 22 races of a world championship here would be ideal for me!"

"We were the leaders at Montmelo as well. Our performance there was strong. I have a fondness for the circuit in Thailand too, so we’ll find out how we perform there and how quickly the team can assemble everything."

"When all the factories assemble everything, using all 100 components they're experimenting with, we'll be able to assess our progress."

"Stay relaxed and visit Thailand to experience what it's like there."

The 28-year-old confessed that his confidence is soaring with the GP24, especially when compared to the struggles he faced with the GP23 last year.

He expressed that his confidence level with the '23 model was consistently at a 7 out of 10. However, with the GP24, it has increased to a 9, which he noted as significant.

"Last year was challenging with the 23 bike, but those difficulties taught us valuable lessons. Everything we learned will serve as an important resource as we aim to make 2025 successful."

Marquez stated that the GP24 is the finest MotoGP motorcycle he has ever ridden.

"The GP22 was really impressive. It seems that the GP24 is quite similar, like a sibling to the GP22, and it's a fantastic experience to ride."

Alex enjoyed success with two podium finishes, secured a pole position, and claimed a Sprint race win on the GP22.

Franco Morbidelli matched Marquez's GP24 results by securing fourth place on the Sepang leaderboard. However, the Italian rider's Sprint simulation was significantly behind that of #73.

Marquez's first-year teammate, Fermin Aldeguer, posted the 11th quickest time with an average of 1 minute and 58.580 seconds during the Sprint, compared to Alex's 1 minute and 57.901 seconds.

During his Sprint simulation, Marc Marquez maintained an average lap time of 1 minute, 57.930 seconds, while Bagnaia's average was 1 minute, 58.243 seconds, both riding factory-spec GP25 motorcycles.

The testing sessions in Buriram are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday.

Enea Bastianini Analyzes Sepang Struggles: ‘I Know Where I Lost Time

Published

on

By

Enea Bastianini admitted to losing significant time but is aware of the reasons. "I've pinpointed exactly where the time slipped away. After reviewing the videos and analyzing the data, it's clear to me," he stated.

During his first appearance for Tech3 KTM in Barcelona last November, Enea Bastianini achieved the 16th fastest time. However, after three days of testing at Sepang for MotoGP, his position fell to 18th place.

Nonetheless, the ex-Ducati factory racer was quite specific about the areas where he falls behind the most.

Bastianini showed strong performance in the initial sector of the lap, achieving the sixth quickest time with a margin of +0.119 seconds, thanks to effective braking, particularly in the demanding braking area at Turn 1. However, difficulties with entering corners caused him to lag behind in Sector 2, where he placed 19th with a time of +0.482 seconds, and in Sector 3, where he finished 17th with a time of +0.623 seconds.

In Sector 4, Bastianini recorded the 10th fastest time, trailing by 0.319 seconds, as he tackled another intense braking point leading into the last hairpin turn.

Bastianini acknowledged at the conclusion of the Malaysian test that there wasn't significant progress, saying, "Honestly, the improvement has been minimal. From the beginning to now, I've only gained about 1.5 seconds."

"I am aware of the specific area that requires our attention."

"We need to explore alternative options, but right now it hasn't been feasible as we were experimenting with various components."

"It is likely that working with the same motorcycle in Thailand will be simpler, which could help boost confidence."

When asked about the areas where he is facing the most challenges, the MotoGP rider, who has won seven races, clarified:

"Yes, I'm aware of where I lost time. After reviewing the videos and data, and based on my own observations, the issue seems to be with my corner entry. Currently, my speed when entering corners is extremely slow, making it challenging for me to make the turns."

"We have made significant progress with our braking system and are now very competitive. In fact, in some instances, we outperform the other KTM bikes, particularly in the opening and closing sectors."

"In Sectors 2 and 3, with particular emphasis on Sector 3, our losses were excessively high!"

Bastianini's fastest lap at Sepang was 1.5 seconds slower than the leading time set by Alex Marquez. He was 0.876 seconds off the pace of Pedro Acosta, who placed sixth as the top KTM rider, but trailed by just 0.146 seconds behind his new Tech3 teammate, Maverick Vinales, who finished 16th.

The Buriram test scheduled for this week is happening at the same location where Bastianini claimed victory in the Thai Grand Prix Sprint race last October, spearheading a top-eight finish dominated entirely by Ducati riders.

Ducati’s Engine Dilemma: Marquez and Bagnaia Weigh in on Crucial 2025 Decision in Buriram

Published

Ducati Teases Major Engine Decision in Buriram

Marc Marquez, Pecco Bagnaia, and Davide Tardozzi Talk About Engine Choice

Ducati has suggested a crucial engine choice that will significantly impact their 2025 MotoGP season.

During the two-day testing session in Buriram this week, they need to choose between sticking with last season's engine or fully committing to the new one.

Factory riders Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia participated in testing sessions at Sepang, aware that their championship aspirations depend on selecting the correct option.

In a conversation with MotoGP.com following the Sepang test, Marquez explained that the focus isn't just on the engine itself. Instead, it's a combination of various minor components. He added that the engineers will now have the opportunity to examine these details, thanks to the numerous laps completed by both him and Pecco [Francesco Bagnaia].

"I believe they will make a wise choice because, over the past three days in the garage, I've noticed that they are both courageous and composed when it comes to making the right decisions. […] At times, it's important to be cautious when you already possess the best motorcycle."

"We must absolutely ensure and have complete confidence that the 2025 engine is significantly improved, and right now, we're uncertain about that. Therefore, we have to hold off for now."

Marquez prefers a cautious strategy for the 2025 motorcycle, mainly because he wants to minimize risk. Any errors made will have to be dealt with for two seasons, which matches the duration of Marquez's current and initial contract with Ducati.

"We must avoid any risk that isn't essential," he stated.

"We must recognize that with the last set of equipment, they managed to secure victory in 19 out of 20 races."

"Naturally, engineers and manufacturers are constantly seeking ways to enhance their work."

"However, if there is any uncertainty, it's wiser to proceed cautiously. Nonetheless, there are some favorable aspects regarding 2025, so we should continue to seek clarity."

Check out this Instagram post from the Crash MotoGP account.

Ducati acknowledges a deficiency in their new engine.

Francesco Bagnaia, who rides alongside Marquez, argued that the engine for 2024 is actually a year old. However, he also conceded that the engine slated for 2025 lacks certain elements.

"The GP24 is an amazing bike and it's performing exceptionally," Francesco Bagnaia told MotoGP.com.

"We've been using it for a season now. The GP25 engine is impressive, with excellent power delivery, but there's still something lacking."

"It's a difficult decision, and we require an additional two days in Thailand to gain a clearer understanding."

Bagnaia declined to clarify if the below-average time trial, during which he fell behind in two sectors, involved using the 2025 engine.

Davide Tardozzi, who manages the Ducati Lenovo team, expressed views similar to those of Marquez. He disclosed that following the Sepang sessions, the preference is shifting toward the engine designed for 2024.

"The engine designed for 2025 shows a lot of promise, but ultimately, we believe the regulations require us to take a cautious approach since this engine needs to last for two years," he explained.

"Right now, the likelihood leans slightly more in favor of 2024 rather than 2025. However, the final decision will be made in Thailand."

Liam Lawson: Red Bull’s Aggressive New No. 2 and the Quest to Support Verstappen’s Dominance

Published

on

By

"Liam Lawson, described as 'aggressive,' has been encouraged to perform tasks that support Max Verstappen. While Lawson hasn't yet demonstrated significant speed, he has shown he possesses the essential qualities."

Liam Lawson has been advised to accept his position as the second driver for Red Bull, even though he has a naturally competitive personality.

After stepping in for Daniel Ricciardo at Red Bull last season, Lawson has shown significant promise, securing a promotion to Red Bull for the 2025 season. He will join Max Verstappen as a teammate, taking over from Sergio Perez.

Last year, a young driver from New Zealand managed to annoy Fernando Alonso with his driving approach. However, he has been cautioned that matching his new teammate's performance is out of reach.

"Connor McDonagh mentioned on the Crash F1 podcast that he will have no other option since he won't be able to match Verstappen's speed."

Get the F1 Crash Podcast by downloading it now.

Lawson's aggressive racing style might work to Verstappen's advantage. Should Lawson find himself a few positions back and chooses to race assertively, he could provide support to Verstappen.

"Competing with Ferraris, Mercedes, and McLarens? If Lawson chooses a more aggressive approach, unlike Perez who frequently didn't make it past Q2 or Q1, it might work in Verstappen's favor."

"However, I believe Verstappen shouldn't be concerned. The gap between them will be considerable."

"Lawson has yet to demonstrate his speed. However, he has shown that he has the courage and skill to compete directly against Alonso on the track."

"Lawson possesses the potential to be a valuable addition. However, when it comes to speed, Verstappen has no reason to be concerned."

Liam Lawson has been instructed to "get the job done" at Red Bull. In 2024, Sergio Perez's underperformance significantly impacted Red Bull's points tally, leading to their loss of the constructors' championship title to McLaren.

Lawson has been instructed to gather sufficient points to support Verstappen and increase Red Bull's scores.

"This issue will resolve itself soon. Verstappen is likely to dominate Lawson, particularly in the beginning," Lewis Larkam mentioned on the podcast.

"It's likely that there will be a significant distance separating them."

The most beneficial approach for Lawson is to enter this situation without the aim or intention of defeating Verstappen.

"It's clear to everyone that his role in the car isn't meant for that purpose."

"Red Bull needs to intensify their efforts in the championship and regain their competitiveness for the title. This is why Perez was let go."

"He was the sole reason for Red Bull dropping to third place, something they cannot risk happening again."

Lawson, as expected, aims to perform at his highest potential. However, it would not be prudent for him to become overly consumed by these aspirations.

He needs to fulfill his role by not lagging 10 or 15 positions behind Verstappen and failing to make it past Q1. Instead, he should be aiming to earn points and potentially secure a second-place finish behind Verstappen, assuming Red Bull has a car capable of dominating races.

"That is essentially the reason he was hired."

Red Bull F1 Team Revs Up with Gate.io: A $150 Million Sponsorship Deal to Power the 2025 Season

Published

on

By

Red Bull fills a $150 million sponsorship gap with a competing cryptocurrency company as they lock in a new sponsorship deal for the 2025 F1 season.

The Red Bull Formula 1 team has announced a long-term partnership deal with the cryptocurrency company Gate.io.

Red Bull was looking for a new sponsor to take the place of Bybit, whose partnership ended late last year.

Rival cryptocurrency company Gate.io has now taken that position in preparation for the 2025 campaign.

A three-year agreement between Red Bull and Bybit was said to be valued at $150 million.

The branding for Gate.io will appear on Red Bull's 2025 racing car, the RB21, in addition to being displayed on the team's uniforms and the race suits worn by the drivers and pit crew. Max Verstappen's helmet will also showcase the Gate.io logo.

Red Bull claims that this partnership represents a significant achievement in bringing together two leading companies, both known for their continuous drive for excellence, innovation, and advanced technology.

Gate.io, established in 2013, ranks among the oldest and most reputable cryptocurrency platforms globally.

According to Red Bull, the company is advancing blockchain infrastructure by enhancing speed, security, and scalability to back the future of cryptocurrency exchange technology.

Christian Horner, the head of the Red Bull team, expressed enthusiasm about Gate.io joining them. He mentioned that Gate.io is a brand that aligns closely with Oracle Red Bull Racing's commitment to leading in technological innovation.

"Collectively, we are eager to create a deeper and more distinctive bond with the Team for supporters globally and to collaborate with a partner who shares our vision and is willing to challenge the norm."

Dr. Lin Han, who established and leads Gate.io, stated: "At Gate.io, we are committed to the idea that innovation and performance are closely linked, both in the blockchain sector and in motorsports. Similar to how Oracle Red Bull Racing strives to exceed engineering boundaries, we are persistently enhancing blockchain technology to improve transparency, accelerate processes, and boost efficiency in the realm of digital finance."

"This collaboration arrives as blockchain technology expands its reach beyond the financial sector, and we are eager to discover innovative ways it can integrate with international industries such as motorsport."

By

Jacques Villeneuve takes on a fresh position within Formula 1, rejoining Williams 27 years following his F1 world championship victory with the team.

Jacques Villeneuve is set to return to Williams as a brand ambassador for the 2025 Formula 1 season.

At 53 years old, the Canadian racer is making a comeback to the Williams team, where he secured the world championship title in 1997. He continues to be the most recent driver from the British team to win the world championship.

After retiring, Villeneuve has frequently been seen in the F1 paddock, taking on roles as a commentator and broadcaster. He appeared as a guest on Sky Sports F1 last year.

In 2025, Villeneuve will become an official ambassador for the team, joining 2009 world champion and ex-Williams driver Jenson Button, as well as Jamie Chadwick.

"Villeneuve expressed his delight at rejoining the Williams family, highlighting the significant role the team has played in his life and the cherished memories he associates with it. He is thrilled to contribute to honoring the team's history and assisting in its future endeavors."

Button, who remains in his position, remarked: "Williams was the team that launched my Formula 1 career, and it's amazing that this year marks 25 years since I first raced. It's an honor to serve as an ambassador for this team, and I'm thrilled to keep playing a part in its history and future development."

Chadwick, a three-time W Series champion and winner in Indy NXT races, has been affiliated with the Williams team since 2019. She expressed, "Williams has played a significant role in my motorsport career over the past four years. I am honored to continue representing them in 2025, pushing myself to grow as a driver and assisting in guiding upcoming racers in the F1 Academy."

James Vowles, the head of the Williams team, expressed his honor in having Jenson, Jacques, and Jamie join the team for the 2025 season. He stated that they collectively embody the essence of this legendary team: the legacy they have built, their commitment to nurturing future champions and expanding participation in motorsport, and their drive to achieve historic successes once more.

Jenson and Jacques started their Formula 1 careers with the Williams team and later achieved the title of World Champions. Meanwhile, Jamie has paved the way for women in racing by serving as both a driver for Williams Racing and a mentor to Lia. We are thrilled to include them in the upcoming chapter of Williams’ history.

Ducati’s Unexpected Rival: Tardozzi Identifies Yamaha’s Rapid Rise as Key Challenger in MotoGP 2025

Published

on

By

Davide Tardozzi has surprised many by naming an unforeseen rival for Ducati in the MotoGP 2025 season. "I expected them to improve, but I didn't anticipate it would happen this fast!"

Ducati kicks off the 2025 MotoGP World Championship as the top contender to win all three titles, owing to their recent technical superiority and impressive roster of riders.

Following them, it's uncertain which competitor will pose the biggest threat to the Bologna brand. In recent times, KTM and Aprilia have been in contention, but during last week's Sepang test, Yamaha emerged as a noteworthy contender.

Davide Tardozzi, the manager of the Ducati Lenovo team, anticipated advancements from the Iwata brand following their recruitment of ex-Ducati engineer Max Bartolini at the start of 2024. However, Tardozzi was taken aback by how quickly these improvements appeared to have been achieved.

"I was aware that Yamaha would make advancements, but I didn't expect it to happen so swiftly," Tardozzi mentioned to MotoGP.com after last week's test in Sepang, where Yamaha's rider, Fabio Quartararo, recorded the third-fastest time and demonstrated impressive speed during extended sessions.

"However, I am quite familiar with Massimo Bartolini and was completely confident that he could help them progress significantly."

"At present, I understand that they are paying a lot of attention to him, and with a remarkable rider like Fabio Quartararo on their side, he certainly stands as our competitor."

Satellite competition

During last week's testing, several impressive Sprint simulations caught the eye, featuring not only Quartararo but also Tardozzi's rider, Marc Marquez.

The Spanish racer managed to maintain lap times in the upper range of 1 minute and 57 seconds for the initial four laps of his practice run, before concluding with times in the lower range of 1 minute and 58 seconds.

The only rider who outpaced him was Alex Marquez. Additionally, Alex Marquez, a two-time World Champion, isn't the sole satellite Ducati competitor that Tardozzi is monitoring closely at this point.

"I witnessed the Sprint simulation by the elder Marquez with a grin," Tardozzi remarked, "and ultimately, we have another Marquez who performed excellently, as Alex executed an outstanding simulation."

Ultimately, it's a challenge – race day always has its own dynamics, and I believe that Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia will be there to contend.

"I am confident that our satellite teams will also be highly competitive this year."

The manager of the Ducati Lenovo team expressed confidence that both Franco Morbidelli and Alex Marquez would perform strongly right from their first race. He also mentioned feeling regret for Fabio Di Giannantonio but emphasized that they are eagerly anticipating his return, acknowledging his potential to compete effectively.

"We're anticipating the arrival of the new young rider by mid-season or maybe even sooner, as I believe Fermin Aldeguer is set to astonish everyone."

FIA President Considers F1 Radio Silence in Crackdown on Swearing

FIA President Suggests Possible Ban on F1 Team Radio Over Profanity

FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem has implied that Formula 1 team radio communications might be halted because of inappropriate language.

The president of the FIA, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, has suggested the possibility of completely halting F1 radio communications because of the use of profanity.

The issue of offensive language has become a significant topic in Formula 1, with Ben Sulayem adopting a strict position as he seeks to curb the use of profanity by drivers.

Max Verstappen, a driver for Red Bull, was instructed to "perform community service" by the conclusion of 2024 following his use of foul language at an FIA press conference in Singapore the previous year.

Charles Leclerc, who drives for Ferrari, received a €10,000 fine for using inappropriate language during a press conference in Mexico. The driver from Monaco avoided a more severe penalty by quickly apologizing for his remarks.

Starting in 2025, the FIA has established fresh guidelines addressing misconduct. These regulations could lead to F1 drivers facing points deductions or even a potential ban if they commit infractions like using profanity or criticizing the governing organization.

During a gathering of FIA officials at the Jarama circuit in Spain, Ben Sulayem suggested that additional measures will be implemented to eliminate the use of profanity.

"Should we proceed and then turn off the live communication radios? Perhaps," he mentioned during the FIA officials meeting at the Jarama circuit in Spain. "Should we postpone it? That's also a possibility."

"There are numerous aspects that could be successful with our current promoter. FOM acts as the promoter, the FIA is involved, and we continue to hold ownership of the championship."

Before collecting his fourth drivers' world championship trophy at the FIA's award ceremony in December, Verstappen completed his community service in Rwanda's capital.

Ben Sulayem mentioned that when the individual took a seat, despite being anxious, he proposed the idea of contributing positively to the community by motivating young girls and boys in Rwanda. The person responded eagerly, expressing willingness to take on the task.

He attended the event and was in high spirits. He visited the location, embraced the individuals, which was a significant benefit for them. Witnessing Max Verstappen engaging with the community in Africa and offering motivational words was truly uplifting for them. Their joy was evident.

Ben Sulayem commented: "I recall that when Max Verstappen was assigned community service, some journalists speculated that the president would have him scrubbing toilets."

Sulayem's Recent Statement

It appears that Formula 1 drivers were not involved in discussions regarding the FIA's updated misconduct guidelines and only became aware of these changes after they were reported in the media.

Even though drivers have criticized him over the swearing issue, Ben Sulayem asserts that he is "the most approachable president in history."

"The majority of drivers who reach out to me have my phone number, and I am the most approachable president there has ever been. You'll notice that when they talk to me, they're very pleased," he stated.

"Naturally, back when I was driving, I often found myself voicing complaints. My dissatisfaction would grow if I didn't secure a victory. Nevertheless, I made an effort to keep silent and focus on the opportunity to win the next race. It's simply human nature."

"I interact with the drivers as if they are my own children. Truly, I approach them with care and affection. I handle them with empathy because I've experienced similar challenges. My goal is to see them thrive."

Ferrari’s New Challenge: Can Lewis Hamilton Avoid Daniel Ricciardo’s McLaren Struggles?

Published

on

By

Lewis Hamilton cautioned about potential challenges similar to Daniel Ricciardo's difficulties at McLaren as he prepares for his Ferrari debut.

Lewis Hamilton has received cautions that he might face challenges adjusting to life with Ferrari, much like Daniel Ricciardo encountered difficulties fitting in at McLaren.

Although Ricciardo secured a victory at the 2021 Italian Grand Prix, his tenure with McLaren was ultimately disappointing. Following two challenging seasons, the Australian driver was essentially dismissed by the team while he still had a year remaining on his contract.

Daniel Ricciardo's showings on the track left much to be desired, as he was thoroughly outperformed by his teammate, Lando Norris, while finding it challenging to adapt to the McLaren cars of the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

Lewis Hamilton, who has made a surprising move from Mercedes to Ferrari, has been reminded of Daniel Ricciardo's unsuccessful attempt by Anthony Davidson, a former Formula 1 driver and current Sky Sports analyst.

According to Davidson, as reported by RacingNews365, the individual will need to get accustomed to operating the car's controls, such as the pedals and the steering wheel.

In previous instances, various drivers have expressed concerns; for example, Kimi Raikkonen voiced his dissatisfaction with the steering when he joined Ferrari in 2007, comparing it unfavorably to his experience with McLaren.

When Daniel Ricciardo switched to McLaren, he faced difficulties with the braking system and was never able to fully adapt to it.

At times, despite efforts to collaborate with engineers to make improvements, the vehicle may never handle exactly the way you'd like it to.

"For his benefit, let's hope he finds it instinctual and that the car feels just like the Mercedes he's familiar with, allowing him to start strong. However, there's always the possibility that a new team might not ever feel quite right to a driver."

Hamilton Feels Comfortable with Ferrari

Reports suggest that Hamilton has been adjusting well to Ferrari's vehicles in the initial stages.

As reported by the Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, the seven-time world champion has reportedly "commended the effectiveness" of Ferrari's Brembo braking system, noting it is "well-suited to his driving preferences."

According to reports, Hamilton has effectively learned the starting routines, the use of pedals, and the operation of the Ferrari clutch.

A 40-year-old British individual has participated in a comprehensive pre-season testing schedule with Ferrari. This involved test-driving both the 2023 and 2024 models at Fiorano and Barcelona.

Hamilton expressed his enthusiasm for being with Ferrari, sharing on social media that he already feels very comfortable after his recent testing sessions with the renowned Italian team.

Marc Marquez signs a deal with a new visor sponsor for stunning video capture

Marc Marquez reveals partnership with a new sponsor

Marc Marquez has secured a fascinating new sponsor for the 2025 MotoGP season.

The official Ducati rider has revealed a partnership with Insta360.

Insta360 is a company that manufactures cameras, and they get their name from their specialty in producing cameras that capture 360-degree views

See this Instagram update shared by Marc Márquez (@marcmarquez93).

In a social media update, Marquez shares stunning shots of him maneuvering his Ducati, offering fans an intimate glimpse into his world.

According to the company, "Athletes and creators from around the globe make up Team Insta360, utilizing our cameras to capture their amazing adventures and inspire their creative endeavors."

Over the last year, Marquez has seen changes in his sponsorship deals after transitioning from Honda to Ducati.

This year, Marquez transitioned to being a factory rider and consequently ended his longstanding partnership with Red Bull due to Ducati's collaboration with competing energy drink brand Monster.

Estrella Galicia, the beer brand from Spain, is one of the personal sponsors that Marquez has continued to support.

Ducati has acknowledged that bringing Marquez into their team has enabled them to connect with a larger fan base, thanks to his reputation as the most famous MotoGP racer.

This season, he is preparing to compete for his ninth world championship title. Achieving this would mark an incredible comeback from his struggles with injuries and bring him level with Valentino Rossi's record.

Red Bull’s Rising Star: Arvid Lindblad Poised for F1 Debut as Next Generation Talent

Published

on

By

Red Bull's most promising talent since Max Verstappen is nearing a spot in Formula 1. The team has a young driver who is highly regarded.

Following his victory in the Formula Regional Oceania Championship, Red Bull's young talent Arvid Lindblad is now nearer to his goal of debuting in Formula 1.

Lindblad received 18 super license points, bringing his total beyond the 40 needed to qualify for a position as an F1 driver.

This indicates that the 17-year-old British racer is set to potentially participate in his first F1 event, probably during a practice session later this year with either Red Bull or Racing Bulls.

Red Bull's most promising talent

Since Max Verstappen moved up to the main team in 2016, Red Bull has faced challenges with their youth development program.

Pierre Gasly and Alex Albon were given chances before being harshly dismissed.

This caused them to doubt their young drivers, prompting them to seek out experienced Formula 1 driver Sergio Perez.

Nyck De Vries joined the AlphaTauri team, now known as Racing Bulls, for the 2023 season alongside Yuki Tsunoda. However, after only 10 races, Daniel Ricciardo took his spot on the team.

For the year 2025, Red Bull has decided to return to their original strategy by placing their confidence in their younger drivers.

Liam Lawson has been selected to join Verstappen, and Isack Hadjar is set to debut with Racing Bulls.

Helmut Marko is most thrilled by Lindblad as a driver.

Marko expressed that working with Max is a delightful experience, but noted that Max’s driving career won't last indefinitely, as he shared on the Inside Line podcast.

The speaker expressed that they are not aiming to find someone who can match the longevity of Alonso or Hamilton's careers. The goal of the junior team is to discover emerging talents. They are not specifically searching for another driver like Max Verstappen, but rather someone who can become a champion. According to the speaker, Arvid Lindblad seems to be the most promising candidate for this role.

When is Lindblad expected to enter Formula 1?

Once he accumulates sufficient super licence points, it's probable that he will be offered several opportunities to participate in practice sessions during the year.

This will occur in conjunction with his Formula 2 season with Campos.

If he performs as expected, it seems certain that he will make his Formula 1 debut in 2026.

Tsunoda may choose to depart from the Red Bull organization after not being elevated to the primary team.

Alternatively, Red Bull could decide that Tsunoda's expertise is no longer necessary for the team.

Should that occur and Hadjar faces difficulties, Lindblad could have an opportunity.
