Decoding Enea Bastianini’s 2025 Dilemma: Four Paths Forward, Including a “Riskiest Solution” with Yamaha
"Most daring option" unveiled as Enea Bastianini considers four possible paths for 2025
Carlo Pernat provides a fresh insight into the discussions regarding Enea Bastianini's career prospects
Enea Bastianini's representative has disclosed his four potential choices for a motorcycle in 2025.
The Ducati team's leading racer currently holds the most sought-after position in the 2025 MotoGP roster, with Marc Marquez and Jorge Martin keen on taking over his spot.
Carlo Pernat, acting as Bastianini's agent and with extensive experience in the racing field, has outlined three alternative teams where Bastianini could potentially move if his preferred option of remaining with the main Ducati squad doesn't come to fruition.
Pernat informed Sky that he has been guaranteed a decision will be postponed until Mugello.
"Bastianini remains in contention."
"Choosing this path is challenging, and Gigi Dall'Igna's admission of feeling nervous is understandable. However, it's worth noting that he somewhat brought this upon himself…"
"Introducing Marquez to Ducati complicates matters."
"In the upcoming year, Marquez is set to celebrate his 32nd birthday, while Enea and Martin will be reaching ages 25 and
"Indeed, they own the top-quality bicycle and justifiably act according to their desires."
Aprilia, another brand from Italy, has always been open about its desire to have an Italian racer in the team.
"Pernat emphasized that a proficient manager should be observant."
"I can't refute that I'm in touch with representatives from both Aprilia and the KTM factory.
"Should there be increased opportunities within the Noale firm."
Aprilia is anticipating news on whether Aleix Espargaro will retire.
Should he choose to leave, they'll seek a leading racer to take his place on their victorious bike.
"Pernat described Paolo Campinoti's team as a successful, family-oriented group."
"Enea might actually be okay with the situation, even though being part of an official team is becoming more appealing."
"However, I definitely wouldn't dismiss the possibility."
Pramac finds itself caught in a struggle over whether to remain with Ducati or switch alliances to Yamaha.
Bastianini could realistically be considered as an option if they continue their partnership with Ducati and maintain access to factory-level equipment in 2025.
Yamaha
Pernat mentioned that he sees no issue with Enea being in close competition with Fabio Quartararo, referring to Bastianini's fourth choice.
"Even though it might be the most hazardous option."
Yamaha aims to expand their presence on the grid by introducing a satellite team next year. Regardless of this outcome, they might consider replacing Alex Rins with Bastianini.
For Bastianini, moving teams could represent a step back in terms of the performance quality of the motorcycle. Additionally, he would find himself competing against the formidable Quartararo, who has a long-term commitment with Yamaha and has proven adept at overcoming the limitations of his less competitive bike.
