Dall’Igna Hopes for Continued Pramac Partnership Amid Yamaha’s Tempting Offer
Gigi Dall'Igna discusses the possibility of Pramac leaving as Yamaha shows interest
"The answer is obviously beyond our control"
Gigi Dall’Igna hopes that Ducati and Pramac will maintain their strong relationship.
Despite an important contractual deadline looming, the satellite team has yet to make a commitment to the manufacturer.
Yamaha is rumored to be quietly preparing an attractive proposal to purchase Pramac.
Ducati's general manager Dall’Igna stated to Sky Italia that it is evident they are nearing the conclusion as the deadline for making a decision approaches.
"The answer is evidently beyond our control, so we must remain patient."
"We share a long-standing relationship with Pramac, having collaborated extensively and developed a strong bond of friendship."
“I am optimistic that Paolo Campinoti will choose to remain.”
Pramac's existing agreement with Ducati as a satellite team ends this year; however, they have an option to prolong the collaboration for an additional two years if they decide to exercise it by July 31.
This implies that Pramac can weigh their choices right up until the final possible moment if they choose to do so.
Should they remain, they will still have access to two factory-standard motorcycles. At present, Pramac’s Jorge Martin is at the forefront of the MotoGP championship riding a GP24.
However, Martin will join Aprilia, while Marc Marquez is set to transfer from Gresini to the factory team next season. Enea Bastianini and Maverick Vinales have inked deals with KTM, resulting in Pramac losing its top rider choices.
Franco Morbidelli’s contract expires at the end of this season. Fermin Aldeguer is set to transition from Moto2 to MotoGP with Ducati, making him a probable candidate if Pramac remains for the next season.
Nonetheless, their lack of communication has fueled speculation that a change could take place.
Yamaha is eager to expand their participation in the 2025 racing season by introducing an additional satellite team.
Pramac team leader Gino Borsoi firmly believes that the team will stick with Ducati next year. However, until everything is officially finalized, Dall’Igna and his colleagues will remain concerned about their team's situation.
