Bagnaia and Marquez were seen making angry gestures towards each other in the gravel following the incident, but it appeared at first sight that they had not sustained serious injuries.
Marquez drifted off track, holding onto third place with six laps left.
Starting from the fourth spot, Bagnaia attempted a pass.
Bagnaia's Ducati appeared to be closely attached to the front of Marquez's bike.
The two bicycles became tangled together and veered off the path.
For a few moments, Bagnaia found himself trapped under Marquez's Ducati while they were skidding.
However, he stood up and motioned towards Marquez, indicating that he was fine.
He moved off, the leather on his arm ripped and marked, but possibly lucky that the harm wasn't more severe.
Bagnaia visited the clinic for an examination.
Less than half an hour after their mishap, Bagnaia and Marquez were observed strolling in the paddock area, no longer in their racing suits, and appeared to be without injuries.
Stewards are conducting an investigation into the incident.
Defending MotoGP titleholder Bagnaia began Sunday three points behind the current championship frontrunner, Jorge Martin.
Martin's second-place finish at the Aragon MotoGP on Sunday has propelled him into the championship lead, now holding a 23-point advantage.
Marc Marquez emerged as the winner of the race.
