Bahrain Confirmed as F1 Pre-Season Testing Ground Ahead of 2025 Season Amid Sustainability Drive
Bahrain International Circuit to be the venue for F1's pre-season trials before the 2025 series starts.
Formula 1 has officially announced that pre-season testing for the 2025 season will take place in Bahrain.
The testing period is scheduled to occur over three days, from February 26th to February 28th
In recent years, the sport has frequently conducted tests in Bahrain, but as the next season approaches, there has been some discussion among the teams about whether staying in Sakhir is the best option or if it would be better to go back to Barcelona.
In a shift from recent years, Australia is set to kick off the F1 season for the first time since 2019, replacing Bahrain as the initial race. This change has sparked conversations regarding the most appropriate locations for team testing.
F1 has finally settled on Bahrain as their choice.
Although it costs the teams more compared to Spain, Bahrain is nearer to the initial series of races and ensures warm weather conditions.
F1 announced that in its ongoing effort to achieve sustainability and reach a Net Zero status by 2030, a considerable amount of its cargo will stay at the Bahrain International Circuit until the sport comes back for the Grand Prix in April.
