Bagnaia Secures Pole at Assen, Martin Penalized: Shakeup in Dutch MotoGP Starting Grid
The starting lineup for the Dutch MotoGP at Assen has been adjusted following a three-place grid penalty for Jorge Martin
Francesco Bagnaia secured the top spot on the starting grid at Assen, having dominated all practice sessions beforehand.
The current world champion clinched the top starting position, outpacing his championship competitor Jorge Martin and Aprilia rider Maverick Vinales.
Subsequently, Martin received a three-position grid penalty for his slow pace on the racing line during Q2, moving him down from second place on the grid to fifth.
Maverick Vinales, Alex Marquez, and Aleix Espargaro advanced one position each due to a penalty given to Martin.
Following a dispute over track placement during Q2, Marc Marquez fell after attempting to pass Aleix Espargaro, ultimately securing a seventh-place finish.
Espargaro, forced to adjust his position when Marquez attempted a maneuver at turn seven, managed to enhance his performance on the following lap, securing a fifth-place position.
Kicking off the second row, we have Alex Marquez, with Fabio Di Giannantonio wedged between Espargaro and M. Marquez, who rounds out the sixth position.
