**”Bagnaia Opens Up: No Influence on Ducati’s Decision to Sign Marquez Amid Dutch GP Preparations”**
Francesco Bagnaia admits he was not involved in Ducati's decision to bring Marc Marquez on board as his teammate.
Francesco Bagnaia enters this weekend’s Dutch MotoGP as the leading contender, having triumphed in the previous two grand prix races held in Assen.
The conversation before the weekend was mainly focused on Jorge Martin and Marc Marquez, who faced numerous questions regarding their recent actions.
Marquez was chosen over Martin to team up with Bagnaia for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. Despite Bagnaia previously supporting Enea Bastianini as his preferred partner, he acknowledges that he had no influence on Ducati’s decision.
“I believe I wasn’t part of the decision-making process because it was at my request,” stated Bagnaia.
"I aimed to concentrate solely on the race, and in both scenarios, the circumstances were quite similar. Jorge and Marc are both incredibly quick."
"Currently, Jorge has a better connection with the bike, more experience riding it, and shows greater speed."
"The pace of my new teammate was quite comparable. This presents a fresh challenge for me, and I look forward to the competition. It should be enjoyable."
"Marc is highly intelligent and will have no trouble figuring out how to collaborate with the team to enhance our circumstances once more."
In the initial stages of his career, Bagnaia spent two seasons sharing a motorhome with Martin.
Bagnaia has frequently advocated for the importance of familiarity when collaborating with other riders to enhance the motorcycle's performance.
However, even though Marquez has recently joined Ducati, Bagnaia is confident that the eight-time world champion will adjust in a manner that benefits the team.
Bagnaia remarked, “Teaming up with Marc is a whole new experience. We are unfamiliar with each other, and we’ll learn more in the upcoming year.”
