Francesco Bagnaia maintains his dominant position at the forefront of the Assen leaderboard, topping the last practice session for the 2024 Dutch MotoGP, with Maverick Vinales and Pedro Acosta trailing behind him.
Marc Marquez had to make an unscheduled pit stop right after his out-lap because he neglected to attach his knee sliders!
The incident didn't slow down the Gresini Ducati competitor, who quickly advanced to second position, trailing behind the leader from Friday and two-time Assen champion, Francesco Bagnaia.
GASGAS newcomer Acosta, who was only 15th on Friday, and then Vinales from Aprilia, came between the 2025 Ducati factory pair, as the riders transitioned to using the hard front tyre.
Following a challenging Friday due to problems with set-up, championship frontrunner Jorge Martin secured a fifth-place finish, narrowly outperforming his Pramac Ducati teammate Franco Morbidelli.
Marco Bezzecchi experienced a rapid tumble due to a front-end slide at Turn 7, visibly expressing his frustration by yelling into the void.
Raul Fernandez took more time to depart from a simulated mishap occurring at the same location shortly before reaching the halfway point.
Aleix Espargaro made a comeback to the track following his severe crash at the last turn on Friday, despite nursing injuries.
The Spanish rider quickly reacted to the debris scattered on the track from Fernandez's crash, signaling for the track hazard to be cleared away.
After some time passed, signals were given to clear the track, prompting a cleanup.
The initial qualifying round, set to start on Friday afternoon for riders not among the top ten, will now commence, featuring competitors such as Acosta and Fabio Quartararo.
