Ant Group’s Zan: Striving to be the Google or Microsoft of Web3 in Hong Kong – Ambitions, Strategies, and the Pursuit of Dominance
Zan, the blockchain division of Ant Group, aspires to become the equivalent of Google or Microsoft for Web3 in Hong Kong. The leader of this one-year-old blockchain initiative intends to utilize the favorable conditions in Hong Kong to establish a significant Web3 services firm.
An earlier edition of this article named Zan's CEO as Zhang Hui. However, the present CEO is Cobe Zhang Chenguang.
The blockchain initiative was launched by Ant in September of the previous year, aiming to establish a pivotal tech firm within the realm of Web3, similar to how Google and Microsoft turned into essential service providers for conventional industries during the Web 2.0 phase, said Cobe Zhang Chenguang, CEO of Zan, to the Post on Thursday.
"Our aim is to provide Web3 developers with the array of technology services we've honed over time at Ant, encompassing not just blockchain, but also our developments in financial compliance," stated Zhang.
Zhang stated that Zan is targeting to dominate the Asia-Pacific market within the next two to three years with its comprehensive technical offerings for Web3 developers. These include services like serving as a node provider and customer identity verification.
