Alibaba’s Cainiao Revolutionizes Cross-Border Deliveries with Next-Day Service via New Hong Kong-Zhuhai Air Route
Cainiao, the logistics company of Alibaba, initiates cross-border deliveries in a single day via Hong Kong. Utilizing a fresh pathway from the airport in Hong Kong to Zhuhai, online orders are now capable of being delivered to customers in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu within just one day.
The functionality lets items, housed in a Cainiao storage facility close to the Hong Kong International Airport, to be transported over the Pearl River Delta to Zhuhai, located in Guangdong province. From there, they will be air-shipped to Hangzhou, which is the capital of Zhejiang province, prior to their delivery to consumers, as per the firm's announcement on Wednesday.
The fresh service is presently accessible solely for inhabitants of Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu who have bought items from foreign e-commerce sites, given that these regions have the quickest cross-region parcel delivery.
The current system of shipping goods mainly through truck or train is being challenged by a new route in Zhuhai, which offers a less time-consuming alternative to the expensive air transport from Hong Kong to Shanghai. The innovative service, known as Gangzhufei – loosely translated to "Hong Kong-Zhuhai by air" – can slash delivery times by at least a day. According to Cainiao, customers in specific regions may even get their packages the very next day after ordering.
