Alibaba’s Cainiao Revolutionizes Cross-Border Deliveries with Next-Day Service via New Hong Kong-Zhuhai Air Route
Cainiao, the logistics company of Alibaba, unveils a next-day international delivery service via Hong Kong. Thanks to a freshly established route from Hong Kong airport to Zhuhai, online orders can now be delivered to customers in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu in as little as one day.
The facility permits items held in a Cainiao storage facility close to the Hong Kong International Airport to be transported over the Pearl River Estuary to Zhuhai, located in Guangdong province. From there, the items are air shipped to Hangzhou, Zhejiang province's capital, before they are finally delivered to customers. This information was revealed in a company announcement on Wednesday.
The newly launched service is presently accessible exclusively to inhabitants of Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu who have made online purchases of foreign goods, since these regions have the quickest cross-region package delivery.
The existing method of shipping goods mostly by truck or train, which is somewhat sluggish, or by air from Hong Kong to Shanghai, which is expensive, is being challenged by the Zhuhai route. The fresh service, named Gangzhufei – loosely translating to "Hong Kong-Zhuhai by air" – could cut down the shipping time by a minimum of one day. According to Cainiao, customers in specific regions could get their packages as early as the next day after they place an order.
