Alex Rins Hints at Major Shift: Pramac Racing to Ditch Ducati for Yamaha in 2025
Alex Rins makes an obvious suggestion regarding Yamaha’s intention to bring Pramac on board.
"An additional pair of factory bikes on the track…"
Alex Rins may have accidentally revealed details about the future plans of Pramac Racing.
The ongoing debate regarding the satellite team’s strategy for 2025 has persisted for several months. However, just before this weekend's Dutch MotoGP, Sky Italia revealed that Pramac is expected to soon declare a transition from Ducati to Yamaha.
Pramac informed Crash.net that the claims were merely "rumors," but Yamaha's Rins has since added fuel to the fire.
In Assen, Rins was requested to provide a summary of the chaotic rider market.
He characterized it as, "Not particularly dramatic. Let's call it interesting."
"Numerous adjustments are expected in the coming year."
"Additionally, it’s possible that within a few hours or days, an announcement will be made about adding two more factory bikes to the lineup…"
"This is beneficial for us. It provides an opportunity to develop and enhance our bike. Fascinating…"
A smiling Rins was quickly interrupted, yet he had already conveyed his message.
Anticipation is building in the MotoGP community that Pramac will likely conclude its longstanding collaboration with Ducati and switch to Yamaha in the coming year.
This indicates that they exchange the standard Desmosedici for the M1 model.
For Yamaha, incorporating two additional motorcycles is a significant enhancement in data, which they anticipate will accelerate their return to being a dominant force in the industry once again.
This also implies that Yamaha will need to find two more riders for the year 2025.
Rins, who races alongside Fabio Quartararo, has a contract that ends this year. However, the likelihood of him remaining with Yamaha will grow if Pramac joins the team.
"I have the chance," Rins stated.
"I feel incredibly fortunate and deeply thankful."
"We're making significant progress with the entire team in enhancing the motorcycle."
"However, this task falls under my manager's responsibilities, not mine! Let's observe what happens."
