**”Alex Marquez Denies Deliberate Crash Accusations After Aragon MotoGP Incident with Francesco Bagnaia: ‘It’s Not in My DNA'”**
Alex Marquez denies accusations: “I would never intentionally collide with another rider”
Alex Marquez dismisses any claims that he 'intentionally' collided with Francesco Bagnaia, stating: 'It's not in my nature, nor is it in the nature of this sport'
Alex Marquez has issued a response after coming across 'some statements' regarding the incident with Francesco Bagnaia during the Aragon MotoGP race on Sunday.
The duo experienced a severe crash when Bagnaia tried to overtake the Gresini racer for the third spot, following Marquez's wide turn.
The FIM Stewards concluded that "no additional measures" were necessary because "neither rider was found to be primarily at fault."
However, Marquez appears displeased with Bagnaia's remarks, which imply that the Gresini rider maintained acceleration instead of steering clear of a collision.
"Upon entering turn 13, I could hear his engine revving up. He was accelerating, clearly aiming for that contact," Bagnaia explained to MotoGP.com.
"I was interested in examining that data… It showed that he kept the throttle open between 40 to 60 percent until the moment he crashed. This behavior seems quite unusual for a rider, in my opinion."
Marquez shared a post on social media on Monday.
"Having reviewed several comments, I want to clarify the following points:
"I would never intentionally collide with another rider, and I refuse to accept any accusations of doing so. Such actions are against my principles and the essence of this sport."
"The key takeaway for me is the discussion I had with Pecco yesterday, and as far as I'm concerned, the matter is resolved."
"Now it's time for me to relax and rejuvenate so I can be in peak condition for Misano."
Marquez and Bagnaia were lucky to escape without major injuries and will compete again at Misano this weekend.
At the Aragon race, Marc Marquez, who is Alex’s team-mate and brother, clinched victory. However, it was Jorge Martin's second-place finish that allowed him to extend his lead over Bagnaia to 23 points.
