Adrian Newey’s Next Chapter: Ted Kravitz Debunks Retirement Rumors Amid F1 Speculations
Ted Kravitz uncovers hint regarding Adrian Newey's future in F1: 'Whoever claimed he's retiring…'
"It’s obvious that anyone who suggested Adrian Newey is planning to retire is mistaken."
Ted Kravitz from Sky Sports F1 thinks Adrian Newey is unlikely to retire after his exit from Red Bull, as he continues to be frequently seen in the paddock since the announcement of his departure earlier this year.
During the Miami Grand Prix weekend, Red Bull revealed that Newey will be leaving his position with the team next year.
The Formula 1 design expert has the liberty to move to a different team if he chooses.
Newey has been strongly associated with various Formula 1 teams such as Ferrari and Aston Martin, though retiring is another option for him.
Considering Newey's significant accomplishments in the sport, particularly with McLaren and Red Bull, some have speculated that he might choose to retire completely.
Nevertheless, Kravitz considers it very improbable that he will retire.
"I need to share something about Adrian Newey," he mentioned in his notebook after the race at Silverstone.
"Remarkably, he continues to attend races and frequently visits the Red Bull garage. Despite no longer being in charge of the car, he diligently examines it and takes notes in his notebook, presumably to use in his future endeavors."
“He’s on the grid drawing sketches of the designs and upgrades that all the other teams are implementing, with the intention of adopting these ideas himself. So, it’s evident that anyone who suggested Adrian Newey might retire is mistaken.”
“It’s clear that he has another destination in mind. Why else would he be here, jotting down details about other people’s vehicles?”
Kravitz believes that Newey is "getting ready for his next role" by examining the efforts each team is putting into their cars this season.
“So, no matter where he shows up—be it Aston Martin, Ferrari, or the less probable Williams, or perhaps Mercedes or McLaren—he's unmistakably still arriving dressed in Red Bull attire as he gets ready for his forthcoming role,” Kravitz remarked.
"Although he's banned from Red Bull meetings, I found it intriguing that he's still present."
