The leading theoretical journal of the Communist Party has emphasized the danger posed by "destabilizing" "foreign entities" attempting to sway the young population of China. This was done by publishing segments from a speech given by Chinese President Xi Jinping six years prior.
During his address at the 2018 National Education Conference, Xi Jinping criticized certain groups for attempting to "Westernize" Chinese youth and orchestrating a “color revolution.” He emphasized the importance of ideological education in schools.
