Tragedy Strikes Eastern China: 11 Dead, Including Students and Parents, in School Bus Crash
In eastern China, a tragic accident occurred when a bus plowed into a group of people outside a school, resulting in the deaths of 5 children and 6 adults. Following the incident, which also left many injured, the bus driver was taken into custody by the police. This catastrophic event took place shortly after national outlets had broadcasted new safety protocols intended to protect students.
On Tuesday morning in eastern China, a bus plowed into a group of people outside a junior high school, resulting in 11 deaths and 24 injuries.
State-run CCTV reported that the accident took place at about 7 a.m. outside Foshan Junior High School in Dongping County, Shandong Province, on the second day back to school.
According to the report, the injured were transported to the hospital.
Dongping police reported that among the deceased were six parents and five students. Additionally, one individual sustained severe injuries, while 12 others are currently in stable condition. The status of the remaining victims has not been disclosed.
According to police, the vehicle involved was a school bus tasked with transporting students. The bus veered off course as it neared an intersection and collided with a group of people. Authorities have taken the driver into custody, and an investigation into the incident is underway.
