Technical Triumph: Aston Martin Snatches Ferrari’s Chassis Director in Bold F1 Recruitment Drive
Aston Martin strengthens their technical team by recruiting Ferrari's F1 chassis director in a significant move.
Aston Martin has revealed that they have hired Enrico Cardile, who was previously the chassis technical director at Ferrari.
Cardile is set to become Aston Martin's chief technical officer in 2025 after it was announced on Monday that he would be leaving Ferrari.
“I’m excited about the chance to be part of Aston Martin,” Cardile mentioned. “The goals and passion are evident, and it’s a rare opportunity to join this venture.”
"This is both a personal and professional challenge, and I am eager to collaborate with the team to achieve success for this renowned brand."
This is the most recent step in Aston Martin's significant effort to recruit new talent, as the British team aims to achieve their goal of consistently being a leading contender in the sport.
Aston Martin has recently appointed Andy Cowell, the former head of engines at Mercedes, as their new CEO, with him set to begin his role in October.
Team owner Lawrence Stroll expressed his enthusiasm for welcoming Enrico to Aston Martin Aramco, emphasizing the team's effort to strengthen their technical leadership in light of the major regulatory changes set for 2026.
"I am excited that we keep bringing top-tier professionals to our team. Enrico is equally driven to succeed in F1 and will have access to all necessary resources to achieve that goal. With Andy Cowell coming on board as Group CEO in October and our current leadership, we are building an outstanding team."
Aston Martin team leader Mike Krack expressed his excitement about Enrico joining Aston Martin Aramco, noting that with almost two decades of experience at Ferrari, Enrico will bring a new viewpoint to their technical approach.
"This appointment is crucial for our team as we prepare for the upcoming 2026 regulations, marking a significant milestone in our progress."
Stroll's team has been strongly associated with plans to attract renowned F1 designer Adrian Newey after he departs from Red Bull in early 2025.
