The Home Secretary has announced that over the summer, immigration officials will intensify their efforts, focusing on nail salons and car washes as part of an enforcement crackdown.

Yvette Cooper announced that the 1,000 civil servants previously assigned to the discontinued Rwanda project will now be reassigned to a new "returns and enforcement programme."
