Revolutionizing E-Commerce: Alibaba’s Cainiao Launches Next-Day Cross-Border Deliveries via Hong Kong-Zhuhai Air Route
Cainiao, Alibaba's logistics company, has initiated next-day international deliveries via Hong Kong. This is made possible by a fresh route from Hong Kong airport to Zhuhai, which allows the swift transportation of online orders to customers in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu within a single day.
The service grants the ability to transport items, housed at a Cainiao storage facility close to the Hong Kong International Airport, across the Pearl River Estuary to Zhuhai, located in Guangdong province. From there, the goods will be air transported to Hangzhou, which is the capital of Zhejiang province, and then distributed to the clients, as per the firm's announcement on Wednesday.
At present, the new service can only be accessed by inhabitants of Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu who have bought items from overseas through online shopping, given that these regions enjoy the quickest cross-region package delivery.
The Zhuhai path interrupts the existing method of transporting products mainly via rail or truck – a somewhat sluggish choice, or by plane from Hong Kong to Shanghai, which is expensive. The newly introduced service, known as Gangzhufei, which translates loosely to "Hong Kong-Zhuhai by air," can cut down the transportation time by a minimum of one day. Customers in specific regions can expect their packages as early as the next day after making an order, according to Cainiao.
