Red Bull F1 Tester Jake Dennis Joins Aston Martin for 2019 DTM Debut
Red Bull's Formula 1 test driver Jake Dennis has secured a position with the R-Motorsport Aston Martin team for the 2019 DTM season.
The regular competitor in the Blancpain GT series has become the second driver to be officially named by Aston Martin for its debut in the DTM series. This announcement follows the earlier news on Thursday that former F1 driver and 2010 DTM champion, Paul di Resta, would be joining the Swiss team.
Jake Dennis, who serves as a test driver for Red Bull's Formula 1 team, has secured a position with the R-Motorsport Aston Martin team in the DTM series for the 2019 season.
Blancpain GT's regular driver is the second racer to be confirmed by Aston Martin for its debut in the DTM, following the announcement earlier on Thursday of former F1 driver and 2010 DTM champion Paul di Resta joining the Swiss team.
In 2018, Dennis competed for R-Motorsport in the Blancpain GT Endurance Cup, driving a Vantage GT3. Additionally, he participated in Formula 1 in-season testing with Red Bull at Barcelona the previous year.

The 23-year-old described joining the DTM as a significant milestone in their professional journey.
"I am eager to take on the challenge and understand that I must demonstrate my abilities in this competition. I am excited about growing as a driver, and I believe DTM is the ideal environment for me to gain experience."
Dennis previously experienced driving DTM machinery when he participated in the young driver test at Jerez last December, piloting a Mercedes managed by HWA.
Florian Kamelger, the principal of R-Motorsport, commented: “Jake is incredibly talented and has demonstrated his skills in the GT3 series. He was a dependable leader for us last season. We are fully aware of his capabilities and believe he will quickly make a name for himself in DTM.”
