Pedro Acosta Eyes Historic Win at Dutch MotoGP as Record-Breaking Opportunity Nears
Pedro Acosta expressed that he "missed racing" and still has an opportunity to surpass Marc Marquez's record. With two races remaining, Acosta aims to become the youngest rider to win a MotoGP race.
Pedro Acosta has the Dutch MotoGP this weekend and the Sachsenring event next week as his final chances to clinch a victory in the premier class and set a record as the youngest winner.
Acosta has demonstrated winning speed this season, particularly standing out in Le Mans and Catalunya.
Acosta experienced crashes in both grand prix races, preventing us from knowing if he had the potential to win. Nevertheless, Assen might be another track that plays to the rookie's strengths.
Eager to return to racing after a few weeks' break, Acosta expressed his enthusiasm: "It's great to have competition again! These breaks are useful for disconnecting and training intensely, but I really miss racing, so I'm excited for Assen."
"I've been putting in a lot of effort and getting ready for these races ahead of the summer break. Assen is a track I enjoy, with a great layout and an amazing vibe. We'll see how things go on Friday and how the weekend unfolds."
"We are gradually getting more accustomed to the bike, which is evident in our steady performance, particularly on Saturdays. We are very excited about racing at the Cathedral."
With the loss of his position at Tech 3 KTM for the 2025 season, Augusto Fernandez's chances of remaining in MotoGP seem quite unlikely.
The Spanish cyclist has not made much progress since the previous season, yet he confesses that he is eagerly anticipating this weekend.
Fernandez expressed his joy, saying, "I'm thrilled to return to the MotoGP bike and resume racing after a three-week break."
“The break allowed us to unwind while simultaneously training and getting ready as much as possible for the upcoming two races before the summer hiatus, which are crucial.”
"We kick things off in the Netherlands at the TT Assen, which is among my preferred circuits. Our 2023 performance was decent, so I'm curious to see how we fare this week."
