VW recently updated the Golf with a facelift, and the GTI variant received its share of enhancements. The latest refresh brings a new infotainment system, updated software, revamped design, and a new powertrain. With the commencement of pre-sales for the revamped version, the starting price has been unveiled. Orders are being taken immediately, with prices beginning at €44,505.
The latest GTI model has been upgraded to deliver 195 kW (265 horsepower), which is a 20 horsepower boost over its predecessor. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine reaches its peak output between 5,250 and 6,500 rpm. Additionally, it offers 370 Nm of torque starting from 1,600 rpm. Power is transmitted through the familiar 7-speed DSG transmission, as the 6-speed manual option has been discontinued. The vehicle continues to be front-wheel drive, maintaining a longstanding characteristic of the VW model.

The latest GTI model now completes the classic 0 to 100 km/h dash in just 5.9 seconds, breaking the six-second mark for the first time. Its top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
The updated Golf GTI can be distinguished on the exterior by its redesigned front end featuring new LED headlights, a light-up VW emblem, and revamped LED taillights, along with the fresh "Queenstown" 19-inch alloy wheels. However, the standard wheel size is 17 inches. Additionally, the Golf GTI can be identified by the specific logo on the rear hatch and its dual exhaust system, which has a chrome tailpipe on each side of the vehicle.
Inside, the vehicle boasts an advanced infotainment system that can be operated through a visually detached touchscreen or via IDA, the latest voice assistant that incorporates "ChatGPT" technology. It also features sport seats with built-in headrests adorned with the classic GTI checkered pattern. The interior is further accentuated with red decorative stitching found on the seats, center armrest, floor mats, and the multifunctional leather sports steering wheel, highlighting its distinctive personality.
