McLaren pays tribute to Ayrton Senna with a unique livery design for the Monaco race
McLaren has revealed a livery homage to Ayrton Senna for the upcoming F1 Monaco Grand Prix this weekend.
McLaren referred to the unique paint scheme as an homage that commemorates his contributions and lasting influence on both McLaren and Formula 1, three decades after his death.
The MCL38 will feature a color scheme of yellow, green, and blue, mirroring the distinctive hues of Senna's legendary helmet.
Senna, the iconic driver from Brazil, holds the title of McLaren's most accomplished driver in history.
During his tenure with McLaren, he secured 35 victories out of 41 grand prix races. Additionally, he clinched three drivers' championships and four team championships while with the squad.
He earned the nickname 'the Monaco Monarch' due to his six victories on the track.
Zak Brown, the Chief Executive Officer of McLaren Racing, expressed that the team is honored to acknowledge and commemorate the remarkable career and legacy in racing of Ayrton Senna with this special McLaren paint scheme.
Senna continues to be honored and admired as the most legendary figure in Formula 1, and the most celebrated driver of McLaren.
His influence at McLaren is substantial, not just because of his track achievements but also due to his role in the team, and now his enduring legacy. It's a privilege to compete on his behalf at his most victorious track, donning his iconic green, yellow, and blue hues.
