Max Verstappen Faces No Sanctions Over Abu Dhabi Outburst, Set for Rwanda Community Service
Max Verstappen Faces No Repercussions for "Stupid Idiots" Remark
Max Verstappen avoids an FIA inquiry after labeling the F1 race officials "stupid idiots" during the Abu Dhabi event.
Max Verstappen will not be penalized for calling the FIA race stewards "stupid idiots" during the final race of the F1 season in Abu Dhabi.
A Red Bull racer received a 10-second penalty for causing McLaren's Oscar Piastri to spin out at the first corner during the opening lap of Sunday's final race of the season in Abu Dhabi.
Piastri lost control and spun, but managed to climb back to finish in 10th place. Meanwhile, Verstappen, a four-time world champion, fell in the rankings and ended up in sixth position.
However, Verstappen was annoyed by the steward's choice to impose such a significant penalty on him.
"Could we request an additional 20 seconds?" Verstappen joked over the team radio, then remarked: "What a bunch of fools."
According to Autosport, the 27-year-old Dutchman will not be subjected to any inquiry regarding his remarks about the stewards.
Sky Sports F1 commentator Martin Brundle expressed his dissatisfaction with Verstappen's team radio outburst.
Brundle remarked, "It's not right to make such comments about the referees. That's simply unfair."
"They're enforcing the rules. Avoid colliding with others, and you won't face any penalties."
Christian Horner, the head of the Red Bull team, stood by Verstappen following his emotional comments over the radio.
In Abu Dhabi on Sunday, Horner mentioned to reporters, including Crash.net, that it's not uncommon to hear drivers and sometimes even team principals express frustration, suggesting that things can be a bit unjust at times.
"One advantage of this situation is the level of access provided. Typically, you wouldn't see cameras or microphones present in the changing rooms or during team discussions for football or rugby."
Verstappen is set to fulfill his community service obligation in Rwanda after using inappropriate language during an FIA press conference at the Singapore Grand Prix. This assignment will take place this week, prior to the awards ceremony scheduled for Friday in Kigali.
According to a statement from the FIA following the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Max Verstappen is set to attend the FIA Awards Ceremony, which will be held during the General Assemblies in Kigali, Rwanda next week, where he will receive his fourth straight FIA Formula One World Championship trophy.
During his time in Kigali, he will engage in activities with young participants as a component of the grassroots development initiative coordinated by the Rwanda Automobile Club (RAC).
The event will feature an FIA Affordable Cross Car, constructed in Rwanda by the RAC using designs supplied by the FIA.
Blueprints for the Affordable Cross Car project, which falls under the Level 2 category, have been sent to a worldwide network consisting of 147 National Sporting Authorities (ASNs).
Max Verstappen must be present at the award ceremony, joining Lando Norris, who finished second in the championship, and Charles Leclerc, who secured third place in the drivers' rankings.

FIA Unveils Refined 2026 F1 Car Concept: Major Changes in Aerodynamics and Power Units Revealed
Enhanced visuals of the F1 2026 car design have been unveiled by the FIA.
The FIA has released new images showing the design concept for the 2026 Formula 1 car.
The FIA revealed a revised model of the car design that will debut with the start of F1's new regulation period in 2026. This announcement came after the last gathering of the World Motor Sport Council this year.
The gathering occurred during the week of general assemblies organized by F1's governing body in Rwanda. This Friday, Max Verstappen, along with McLaren, is set to receive the drivers' and constructors' championship awards at the FIA's season-ending gala in Kigali.
The most significant alterations highlighted in the new images from the FIA, compared to the earlier version, are the adjustments made to the front and rear wings.
What modifications are set for 2026? The rules governing Formula 1 will see significant revisions in two years, introducing major updates to both the aerodynamics and power units.
The fresh rules focus on enhancing the agility of the new cars and improving their performance during close racing situations.
The most significant update regarding the engine is a threefold surge in the electricity generated solely by the battery. In 2026, the power units will be streamlined by eliminating the MGU-H component.
The engines are set to operate entirely on sustainable fuels.
Five companies specializing in engine production are set to supply power units for Formula 1 during its upcoming regulatory period, spanning from 2026 to 2030.
As Renault exits, Audi and a Ford initiative supported by Red Bull are set to become power unit manufacturers for Formula 1, joining Ferrari, Mercedes, and Honda starting in 2026.
General Motors' Cadillac division intends to develop and operate its own power unit eventually. However, at the outset, they will receive engine supplies from Ferrari.
Cars in 2026 will boast a chassis design that is more lightweight and will be equipped with active aerodynamic systems, along with adjustable front and rear wings.
Formula 1 will eliminate the Drag Reduction System (DRS) and introduce a new feature called 'Manual Override Mode'. This update will give drivers an extra electrical power boost.
You can check out the complete list of updates scheduled for 2026 by clicking here.
Racing teams are prohibited from commencing any aerodynamic development on their 2026 model vehicles until January 1, 2025.

Eddie Jordan’s Brave Battle: F1 Legend Reveals Aggressive Cancer Diagnosis
Former Formula 1 team leader Eddie Jordan opens up about his fight against cancer, specifically prostate and bladder cancer, which has now reached his pelvis and spine.
Renowned ex-F1 team proprietor Eddie Jordan has disclosed that he is fighting against a severe type of cancer.
Jordan, who led the Jordan Grand Prix team from 1991 to 2005, revealed on his Formula For Success podcast that he was diagnosed with prostate and bladder cancer earlier this year.
The 76-year-old man from Ireland revealed that the cancer has moved to his pelvis and spine, describing the progression as "aggressive."
Jordan mentioned that he has experienced some difficult times following his diagnosis and has been receiving chemotherapy treatment.
Jordan mentioned that they had hinted at this news in their shows earlier, revealing that he was diagnosed with bladder and prostate cancer back in March and April.
"The disease then moved to affect the spine and pelvis, indicating a rather aggressive progression."
"We are all familiar with our amazing friend, Sir Chris Hoy, a true superstar. He has been open about discussing health issues similar to mine, even though he is much younger."
"This is a brief note to all the hosts and everyone tuning in: don't delay or ignore it—go and get screened."
"In life, opportunities arise, and there is a wealth of medical guidance available, along with numerous methods to prolong your lifespan."
"Take action and don't hesitate. It's not a time for being timid. Take care of your health, everyone."
Former Formula 1 driver and current co-host David Coulthard remarked, "EJ, those are insightful comments. Given your personal journey, it's impressive to see you looking so well, especially after undergoing chemotherapy."
"I'm certain that this isn't something that can be done quickly, nor is it enjoyable, but it's wonderful that you're sharing your story with all of our audience members."
Jordan continued, saying, "We experienced some extremely challenging times, but fortunately, we managed to overcome them."
Coulthard inquired if it might be a good time to remind Jordan about the £500 debt he owes. Jordan humorously responded, suggesting, "You'd probably have more luck collecting it after I'm gone!"

Graceful Farewell: Lewis Hamilton’s Poised Departure from Mercedes Sets a New Standard in F1 Exits
Lewis Hamilton's exit from the Mercedes F1 team was managed flawlessly, according to James Allison.
Mercedes' Formula 1 technical director, James Allison, thinks that the way Lewis Hamilton's departure from the team was managed was exemplary.
Seven-time world champion Hamilton concluded his remarkable 12-year stint with Mercedes at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which marked the end of the season last weekend. This comes as he prepares for a high-profile move to Ferrari in 2025.
In an impressive performance, Hamilton surged from 16th place to secure a fourth-place finish, surpassing his teammate George Russell in what was an emotional farewell race with the Silver Arrows.
Although Allison wished for a "happily ever after" scenario for Hamilton and Mercedes, he mentioned that the 39-year-old British driver conducted himself in the best possible manner.
Allison expressed that encapsulating such a complicated range of emotions would be quite challenging.
"Naturally, we hoped that the entire season, particularly the final race, would conclude in a storybook manner for a collaboration that has established numerous standards in Formula 1. It would have been appropriate if we had secured at least a podium finish or, ideally, the victory, but that didn't happen."
In my opinion, Lewis and the team managed the situation as best as possible. This is largely due to the mutual respect between Lewis and the team, as well as a deep appreciation for all that they have accomplished together.
During the qualifying session, Lewis faced challenges, particularly when he collided with the bollard. He felt let down by the incident, and our team shared in that disappointment. However, during the debrief, while we were feeling disheartened, Lewis encouraged us by saying, "Keep your spirits up. We’ll maximize our potential tomorrow and recall the occasions when we succeeded as a team."
"It feels like that because, although we've faced challenging seasons lately, no other driver-team collaboration has achieved what we have over the years. It has truly been an incredible journey for everyone involved, and on our final day together, we couldn't have wished him more success."
Hamilton's Week-Long Farewell with Mercedes
Following the conclusion of his racing career with Mercedes, Hamilton set off on a week-long journey to bid farewell to the employees and sponsors of the German automaker before transitioning to Ferrari.
On Tuesday, Hamilton made a stop in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to pay a visit to Petronas, the main sponsor of Mercedes. He spoke to a group of 1,000 employees and later participated in a fan gathering, where he engaged in a question-and-answer session with 3,000 attendees.
Hamilton acknowledged that returning here for the final time as a Mercedes driver has stirred up many emotions for him.
While it's undeniably unfortunate in some ways, it's also heartwarming to have the opportunity to honor all that we've accomplished alongside our colleagues from Petronas and the fans in Malaysia.
"Visiting this place and witnessing the backing is always a humbling experience."
On Wednesday, Hamilton made a stop at Mercedes' headquarters in Stuttgart. He then wrapped up his goodbye tour in the UK by visiting the F1 team's facilities located in Brackley and Brixworth.

Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds Fulfills $250,000 Charity Pledge Despite Winning Max Verstappen Bet
Head of Formula E Donates $250,000 to Charity Following Bet on Max Verstappen
The leader of Formula E contributed $250,000 to charity as a result of a light-hearted wager on Max Verstappen's Formula 1 championship win.
The CEO of Formula E, Jeff Dodds, has given $250,000 to a charitable organization after making a playful wager regarding F1 world champion Max Verstappen.
In February, Dodds pledged to donate an amount to charity if Verstappen did not secure the championship for a fourth consecutive year. He also mentioned that the Red Bull racer was "definitely going to win" this season.
The head of Formula E was proven right when the 27-year-old driver from the Netherlands secured his fourth world championship title in Las Vegas, even though there were still two races left in the season.
Theoretically, Doggs could have avoided fulfilling his wager, yet he has chosen to pay the amount anyway.
The donation of $250,000 is set to be divided evenly between two causes: the Wings for Life foundation, backed by Red Bull, which focuses on spinal cord research, and More than Equal, a newly established fund designed to enhance opportunities for women in the motorsport industry.
Dodds described how a lighthearted wager at the beginning of the season has transformed into a genuine effort to promote gender equality in their championship, with the ultimate aim of having women participate full-time in Formula E.
"The initial phase of the study we've initiated alongside More Than Equal aims to give us a clearer picture of the challenges women encounter in entering the field. This research will guide how Formula E and its teams can enhance equality, create more opportunities, and foster inclusivity at the highest levels of our competition."
During a conversation with Dodds, Verstappen mentioned that Wings For Life is the charity he feels most connected to and expressed confidence that they would deeply appreciate the support. He also praised the idea of backing motorsport and nurturing young talent, calling it an excellent suggestion.
The athlete, who has won the world championship four times, mentioned that he plans to follow the championship while he is on break.
Dr. Fran Longstaff, who leads research efforts at More than Equal, expressed excitement about collaborating with Formula E. She highlighted the organization's dedication to creating opportunities for women drivers and emphasized their enthusiasm for this significant research project.
This initiative intends to leverage our specialized knowledge to pinpoint the crucial elements that lead to success in this fast-changing and distinctive series, which requires a unique combination of skills and experience. Collaborating closely with drivers, team managers, engineers, and other specialists, our goal is to transform these findings into practical advice for advancing driver development.

Fernando Alonso’s 2026 Vision: Treating It as a Finale While Dreaming of More
Why Fernando Alonso might approach 2026 as his last season in Formula 1
Is there a possibility that Fernando Alonso will remain in Formula 1 after the 2026 season?
Fernando Alonso has expressed that he plans to approach the 2026 F1 season as if it will be his last in the racing world, although he is open to continuing beyond that year.
The 43-year-old, who has won the world championship twice, is signed with Aston Martin for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. The 2026 season will mark the beginning of a significant regulatory change in Formula 1.
Alonso is optimistic that Aston Martin can take advantage of Formula 1's upcoming regulations to become a leading team that competes for victories and world titles.
Next year, Aston Martin is set to gain a significant advantage with the addition of renowned Formula 1 designer Adrian Newey. His initial project will be the 2026 car for the team located in Silverstone. Additionally, Aston Martin will have Honda engines, essentially turning them into the official team for the Japanese automaker.
Alonso mentioned to the BBC that there will be significant anticipation due to the introduction of a new car, alterations in the regulations, and the fact that Adrian Newey designed the car.
"Most likely, or at least initially, this will be my final season in Formula 1, as my contract concludes at the end of 2026. This is a crucial period for performance and meeting expectations, with much at stake."
"If everything is going well in 2026 and we're enjoying ourselves, I would definitely consider the opportunity to compete for an additional year."
"I won't rule anything out in advance. However, I won't dwell on that thought; instead, I will approach each race as if it's my final one and savor every moment."
Alonso mentioned that he will acknowledge when it's the appropriate moment for him to retire from racing.
He stated that he would remain self-assured as long as he felt at ease in the car.
"If there comes a time when I notice that I'm lagging behind my team members or not performing to the car's potential, I'll likely acknowledge it and choose to retire from racing, as it would no longer be enjoyable for me."
Alonso remains hopeful about securing his third world championship, a goal he has yet to achieve.
The Spanish racer, regarded as one of the best ever in the sport, hasn't secured a grand prix victory since 2013, and it has been 18 years since he last claimed a championship title with Renault in 2006.
He stated, "I continue to hold onto my dreams. Why wouldn't I? The year 2026 likely represents my sole opportunity, as 2025 poses significant challenges. Yet, I remain hopeful."
"Formula 1 appeals to those who dare to dream, as it is a realm where the unexpected is always possible. We shall wait and observe."
Alonso expressed that his enthusiasm and drive for Formula 1 persist because he feels he has "never had a truly competitive car to dominate, except during my season with Toyota in the World Endurance Championship in 2019-20."
During that season, I came to understand the immense advantages of having a powerful car in Formula 1. It allowed me to accomplish numerous achievements and drive according to my preferences," he remarked.
Throughout my career, I've often driven cars that weren't the top performers at the time, including during my two World Championship wins. In 2005, although the McLaren was the quickest car, its reliability issues allowed us to capitalize on that weakness and secure the championship victory.
In 2006, the situation was quite similar, but Ferrari and Michael Schumacher experienced a few too many non-finishes, particularly in Japan towards the year's end, which led to my winning the championship.
"I remain driven and enthusiastic, and I don't feel like I'm stuck in a loop because each year I hold onto the hope that this will be the season I get a speedy car."

Max Verstappen Defends Sergio Perez Amid Red Bull Struggles: ‘He’s Not an Idiot
"Max Verstappen comments on Sergio Perez's difficulties with Red Bull, stating, 'He's not foolish.' He added that criticism towards Perez has often been overly severe, emphasizing that Perez is not unintelligent."
Max Verstappen has commented on Sergio Perez's challenging season with Red Bull in Formula 1, asserting that "he's not foolish."
The future of Perez with Red Bull remains uncertain following a meeting reportedly held by shareholders on Monday to address the issue.
The Mexican driver's lackluster performance affected Red Bull's efforts in the constructors' championship, resulting in the team falling to third place behind McLaren and Ferrari.
Consequently, Red Bull is giving serious thought to the possibility of swapping him out for Yuki Tsunoda or Liam Lawson.
Following the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Sunday, Verstappen was questioned once more regarding the future of Perez.
"I'm not sure. It's a decision for the team to make," he mentioned. "I've consistently had a good working relationship with Checo. He's genuinely a fantastic person."
"It's uncommon to have a teammate like him, someone who consistently performs well and is genuinely kind."
"I collaborate with him every weekend, consistently. In my opinion, he has faced a lot of unfair criticism from others."
"Certainly, there are weekends that might have gone more smoothly. However, at times, criticism directed at him has been quite severe, even though he's not lacking in intelligence."
He has consistently been seen as an excellent driver. The challenges have been significant, not just for him but for the entire team, as there were times when handling the vehicle proved to be extremely difficult.
Who will join Verstappen at Red Bull: Tsunoda or Lawson?
It seems increasingly likely that Lawson will be chosen to team up with Verstappen at Red Bull next season.
Despite Lawson being consistently outperformed by Tsunoda in qualifying sessions, with a score of 6-0, the difference in their times was frequently under a tenth of a second, except for the event in Las Vegas.
Red Bull's leadership has been impressed by how well Lawson has adjusted to Formula 1 despite having little experience, although there remain worries about Tsunoda's attitude.
During the post-season test in Abu Dhabi, Tsunoda showcased strong performance.
He stated that adjusting to the Red Bull RB20 was not challenging, as the car matched his driving preferences well.

Racing Legends and Unforgettable Rivalries: Lewis Hamilton Hails Sebastian Vettel as ‘The Best World Champion
Lewis Hamilton identifies his "top world champion" amid his ongoing farewell tour with Mercedes, reflecting on the memorable races they shared.
Lewis Hamilton has praised his former Formula 1 competitor Sebastian Vettel, calling him "the greatest world champion I am familiar with."
For many years, Hamilton and Vettel were fierce competitors leading the Formula 1 races, engaging in some unforgettable duels.
Vettel came out on top in their initial title battles, particularly in 2010. During that season, both competitors were still vying for the championship as they approached the final race at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, with Fernando Alonso and Mark Webber also in the mix.
The competition between them became more heated during 2017 and 2018, as Hamilton and Vettel took charge of Mercedes and Ferrari.
Hamilton emerged victorious in both seasons, preventing Vettel from achieving his goal of following in the footsteps of his hero, Michael Schumacher, by securing championship victories for Ferrari.
During his farewell tour in Malaysia, Hamilton addressed a gathering of fans, sharing his thoughts on his Formula 1 journey and highlighting what makes Vettel exceptional.
"He stated that Seb is the greatest world champion he knows, as Seb is much more than just a racer."
"He is genuinely passionate, shows empathy, and is considerate towards others. In fact, he stands out as the only person who has attempted to use his influence for a positive cause."
"I have encountered numerous famous individuals and a variety of other people. Many of them don't make an effort to engage with others."
"For me, it means that no matter how skillfully he drives, his speed is always impressive. We've shared some fantastic races together."
"In my opinion, the races we had together were the most exceptional."
A catalyst for transformation away from the race circuit
Vettel's decline in performance and subsequent transition to a mid-tier position with Aston Martin led to a change in his priorities.
The German started to focus more on topics beyond Formula 1.
During the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix, Vettel donned a t-shirt with a rainbow design before the race to support LGBTQ+ rights.
This legislation came about following Hungary's suggestion of a contentious law that restricts how schools can educate students on topics related to homosexuality and transgender matters.
The ex-Red Bull racer has also been outspoken about environmental and sustainability concerns, topics he has passionately supported since stepping away from Formula 1.

Lewis Hamilton Cheers McLaren’s Historic F1 Constructors’ Triumph, Eyes on 2025 Glory
Lewis Hamilton has extended his congratulations to McLaren following their victory in the F1 constructors' championship.
Lewis Hamilton has extended his congratulations to McLaren for securing their first F1 constructors' championship victory since 1998.
Lando Norris' win at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in Formula 1 clinched the 2024 constructors' title for McLaren.
Approaching the final race of the season at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, McLaren was ahead of Ferrari by 21 points.
The team had a significant advantage because Charles Leclerc had a disappointing qualifying session and received an engine penalty, starting him in the 19th position on the grid.
Meanwhile, Oscar Piastri's clash with Max Verstappen occurred at the same time as Leclerc's impressive opening, where the Ferrari driver managed to move up to eighth place by the end of the first lap.
Nevertheless, Norris stood firm against Carlos Sainz's challenge, clinching his fourth victory of the season and ensuring McLaren's championship title.
The team from Woking has secured their first Formula 1 world championship since 2008, when they claimed the drivers’ title with Hamilton.
Hamilton used social media to send his congratulations to his old team for their win. On his Instagram story, he posted: "Huge congrats to McLaren. Thrilled for everyone, savor this moment."
McLaren aims to achieve a higher position in the 2025 F1 season, targeting the drivers' championship with one of their racers.
As Formula 1's rules remain unchanged during the off-season, McLaren is anticipated to be the leading team as they approach the opening race in Australia.
Overall, McLaren has been equipped with the quickest car this year, yet mistakes by their drivers and ineffective strategies have stopped them from increasing their tally of six wins.

Lando Norris: The Speed of a Champion, But Can He Conquer His Inner Demons for 2025 Glory?
Lando Norris receives accolades for his impressive speed, reminiscent of a champion, yet he is cautioned about his personal struggles. Nico Rosberg analyzes Lando Norris as he potentially eyes a championship run in 2025.
Nico Rosberg, who won the F1 world title in 2016, thinks that Lando Norris has shown a natural speed that is comparable to a world champion's. However, Rosberg cautions that Norris will have to conquer "some inner demons" if he hopes to clinch the world championship next year.
In 2024, Norris had his best Formula 1 season yet, finishing second overall, just behind Max Verstappen.
The British driver secured four wins and claimed eight pole positions, establishing himself as the closest competitor to Verstappen in the race for the world championship.
At one stage, Norris seemed poised to challenge for the championship, securing pole position in Brazil while Verstappen started way back in 17th place.
In a race filled with mistakes by Norris, Verstappen delivered an exceptional performance, greatly increasing his chances of winning the title.
Nevertheless, Norris concluded the year on a high note by securing an impressive win at the Yas Marina Circuit, which earned McLaren its first constructors' championship since 1998.
During an appearance on the Sky F1 podcast, Rosberg lauded Norris for his impressive natural speed, though he cautioned that Norris should address the minor mistakes he committed over the season.
Rosberg stated that his sheer speed is comparable to some of the top drivers, including Max Verstappen. This impressive speed is remarkable and befitting of a world champion.
"He continues to struggle somewhat because he battles with personal challenges that occasionally lead to mistakes."
One of the most remarkable instances occurred in Singapore, where he had a 20-second lead but nearly crashed twice. It seemed a bit unusual. He still needs to improve in that aspect to minimize mistakes, an area where Piastri excels.
Piastri may not have the highest top speed, but he is consistently reliable and makes no errors. Meanwhile, Lando is now considered the top contender to clinch the championship next year.
Did Norris Miss a Chance in 2024?
Despite Norris and McLaren being satisfied with their advancements in 2024, did they let a potential win in the drivers' championship slip away?
Norris missed out on victories in Canada and Britain due to ineffective strategic choices, and sluggish starts led to him falling behind Piastri in both Hungary and Italy.
The positive development for McLaren is that they concluded the year possessing either the most reliable or the most robust car.
Since the rules are not changing during the winter, they are likely to have a strong opportunity to chase the title.

Rosberg Warns Hamilton: Ferrari Stint Could Be a ‘Painful Adventure’ Amid Qualifying Struggles
Lewis Hamilton's performance during qualifying might turn his time with Ferrari into a challenging experience. He is likely concerned about the possibility: "What if my current form persists?"
Nico Rosberg, the 2016 Formula 1 world champion, has cautioned Lewis Hamilton that his difficulties in qualifying could lead to a challenging experience during his time with Ferrari.
Hamilton faced challenges during his last year with Mercedes, especially during the qualifying sessions.
George Russell emerged victorious in the qualifying duels, defeating Hamilton with a score of 19 to 5.
This marks just the second occasion in Lewis Hamilton's Formula 1 career where he has been outperformed by a teammate in qualifying matchups, with the first instance occurring against Nico Rosberg back in 2016.
During a discussion on the Sky F1 podcast, Rosberg shared his thoughts on why his former teammate might be worried about his speed during single laps as he prepares for the upcoming year.
"Looking ahead, he has two more years with Ferrari. He will undoubtedly be concerned, thinking, 'What if I keep performing like this?'" Rosberg remarked.
"Is Mercedes solely responsible for the performance, or is there more to it? Imagine if I maintain this form at Ferrari. It would be a challenging experience since Ferrari did not hire him with that expectation."
Ferrari brought him on board to compete alongside Leclerc and aim for world championship titles. I believe he must be quite concerned about this.
"We can only wish that his time at Ferrari helps him return to his former exceptional form, allowing him to be the outstanding driver we recognize him to be."
Hamilton's struggles in qualifying towards the year's end have left him feeling downcast.
This situation resulted in an extraordinary acknowledgment from him that he just doesn't have the speed anymore.
Although Hamilton is still considered among the "very best" when it comes to race speed, his lackluster performance in qualifying is leaving him with a significant amount of ground to make up during races.
"The issue with our sport is that if you don't secure a top qualifying position, you face significant challenges," Rosberg stated. "Despite this, he appears to perform exceptionally well in terms of race speed."
"It's been repeatedly observed that his race pace is exceptionally strong. Despite often having low qualifying positions, which he himself admits is due to not being fast enough during qualifying sessions."
"Toward the year's end, he felt burdened by consistently losing to his younger teammate. It's important to note that his teammate, while younger, is not a world champion and has only secured four race wins."
"Those of us on the inside recognize Russell's brilliance, though doubts remain since he hasn't clinched a world championship yet. It's particularly challenging when you consistently lose to someone like Lewis, who is widely considered the greatest of all time based on statistics."

Qualifying King: George Russell Tipped for F1 World Championship Glory with Mercedes Backing
'Russell Touted as Mercedes' Key to F1 Success – Unmatched Speed in Qualifying'
Nico Rosberg has lauded George Russell's performance in qualifying, highlighting his prowess compared to Lewis Hamilton.
According to Nico Rosberg, George Russell is prepared to clinch the F1 world championship with the Mercedes team.
In the 2024 Formula 1 season, Russell had a successful run, reclaiming victory at the Austrian Grand Prix.
The British racer would have secured a victory at Spa if they hadn't been disqualified because of a technical violation.
Russell accumulated more points than Hamilton, placing above him in the championship rankings for the second time over the past three years.
One could say that the standout feature of Russell's season was his remarkable performance during qualifying sessions.
Russell secured three pole positions and outperformed Hamilton in the Saturday qualifying sessions, winning 19 out of 24 head-to-head matchups.
In the most recent episode of the Sky F1 podcast, former Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg, who competed with the team from 2010 to 2016, expressed his support for George Russell, suggesting that Russell could secure the world championship title if provided with a competitive car.
"According to Rosberg, George has the potential to secure the World Championship title, provided that Mercedes supplies him with a competitive car."
During qualifying sessions, he's unmatched in speed. While there are others like Verstappen who can match his pace, his performance in qualifying is truly remarkable. As for racing, it's important to keep in mind that we're constantly measuring him against the greatest driver in history.
The statement draws a comparison between him and Lewis when they drive the same vehicle. Lewis is regarded as the greatest ever. George is quite close to that level, but he occasionally lacks a bit in terms of race speed.
Questions have been expressed regarding Russell's speed during races. Despite being exceptional in single-lap situations, Rosberg remains doubtful about his ability to maintain that speed throughout an entire race.
"As a driver, you're ultimately responsible for the car's setup, which makes me wonder," he remarked.
"You decide what to do. I question whether he might be overly aggressive, which can be beneficial in qualifying with impressive speed but may slightly hinder race performance due to the setup."
"There might be a reason why he's always close to qualifying, or perhaps there's something else at play. However, he needs to improve slightly in his racing skills. Given how he's been performing this season, if the car is competitive, he has the potential to win and become a world champion."

Yuki Tsunoda Shines in Red Bull F1 Test: A Strong Contender Ahead of Crucial Driver Decision
Yuki Tsunoda found it relatively easy to adjust to the Red Bull car during an F1 test, which comes before a crucial decision. "I believe the car aligns well with my driving style, and I haven't faced significant difficulties adapting, even during extended runs…"
Yuki Tsunoda expressed satisfaction with his debut appearance for Red Bull in Formula 1 at the post-season test in Abu Dhabi.
Tsunoda eventually got the opportunity to drive for Red Bull, taking part in the Pirelli tire test held after the season at the Yas Marina Circuit.
He drove the RB20 for a total of 127 laps, achieving the 17th quickest time of the session.
The driver from Japan likely aimed to make a strong impression on Red Bull executives as they prepare to make an important choice about the team roster for the upcoming year.
Red Bull is currently considering whether to replace Sergio Perez and, if they decide to do so, who will take his place as the driver.
Liam Lawson is considered the leading candidate to replace Perez if a change is decided, although Tsunoda is still a formidable option.
Looking back at his experience with Red Bull in Abu Dhabi, Tsunoda expressed: "Today's post-season test in Abu Dhabi has been incredibly enjoyable. It's the first time in four years that I've had the opportunity to drive a different vehicle."
"You can actually sense why the RB20 has been a strong contender in this year's championship; it's a unique experience behind the wheel. Today was incredibly productive, and I'm thrilled about it. Although there's still much for me to learn, the team has excelled in setting up an excellent session today, and the mood in the garage has been fantastic."
"I believe the car matches my driving approach well, and I've had little difficulty adjusting to it. Even during extended runs, I've maintained a steady pace and could identify the car's limits. It's crucial to have confidence in the vehicle to push its boundaries. Right now, I'm more satisfied than ever, and ensuring the team receives the necessary data from each session is today's top priority."
Red Bull is on the verge of making a decision regarding their Formula 1 drivers for the 2025 season. According to reports, team executives recently convened to deliberate on the drivers for the upcoming year. Concerns over Perez's recent performances have led them to consider the possibility of advancing Lawson or Tsunoda to the team.
Although Tsunoda has maintained an advantage in racing, Red Bull has been amazed by Lawson's rapid adjustment, especially considering his limited experience in Formula 1.
In 2024, Red Bull fell to the third position in the F1 constructors' standings, marking their lowest performance since 2019.
