McLaren Needs to Step Up in 2025

Even after clinching the constructors' championship for the first time since 1998 and finishing the season with the fastest vehicle, McLaren's team boss Andrea Stella emphasized that they must not become overconfident.

Stella mentioned on the podcast that it would be very naive to assume that winning the constructor championship once guarantees future success.

Achieving success requires demonstrating excellence in your work, particularly by surpassing the quality of your efforts in 2024. It was crucial to talk about the numerous chances we have to improve.

They elaborated by saying, "For quite some time, this subreddit has imposed limitations on the type of content that can be shared."

"We implemented a system to rate sources, which assesses the quality of news websites. This system continues to be used to eliminate articles that are sensationalist or lack originality."

"Instagram has posed challenges as it requires users to have an account to see posts. Meanwhile, Twitter's quality has declined over recent years. Issues include mandatory logins, a surge of automated accounts, a focus on content from paying users, and the encouragement of sensational content."

Red Bull has shared video footage capturing the moment when team principal Christian Horner took an F1 car for a spin for the very first time.

In July, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Horner had the opportunity to drive the RB8, the vehicle that helped Sebastian Vettel secure the drivers’ world championship in 2012. During the same weekend, he also took the helm of the team’s 2011 car, the RB7.

Although Horner has been the constant team principal for Red Bull since 2005, he had never personally taken one of the team's cars for a spin. The last time he drove a Formula 1 car was in 1993 when he tested a Lotus at Hethel.

On Wednesday, Red Bull unveiled fresh behind-the-scenes video clips featuring Horner as he took part in a preliminary shakedown at Silverstone before the Goodwood event, and during the Festival of Speed as well.

The event, celebrating Red Bull's 20th anniversary, saw Horner take the wheel in place of Vettel, who was initially expected to be the driver.

He expressed his enjoyment, mentioning that it was his inaugural experience driving a Red Bull vehicle, as well as his first encounter with a hand clutch and a two-pedal setup, while speaking to journalists at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Jacques Villeneuve believes that the responsibility for Franco Colapinto not landing a Formula 1 seat for 2025 falls solely on Colapinto himself.

A 21-year-old from Argentina gained attention from competing teams due to his standout performances for Williams. He joined the team as a substitute for Logan Sargeant, who had been underperforming, with nine races remaining.

Unveiled: The Date for Haas' F1 2025 Car Debut on Track

Haas announces the initial on-track appearance of their 2025 Formula 1 vehicle.

Haas has announced the date for the first on-track appearance of their 2025 F1 car before the upcoming season begins.

The VF-25 will be unveiled on February 16 at Silverstone, where Haas will conduct a filming event at the location known for hosting the British Grand Prix.

Esteban Ocon, the team's newest addition, is scheduled to take the initial drive in Haas's Formula 1 car for the 2025 season.

Newcomer Oliver Bearman is set to drive the car during a second day of filming in Bahrain, scheduled for two days prior to the official pre-season testing, which will occur from February 26th to 28th.

Haas's team leader, Ayao Komatsu, announced that Bearman would be the initial driver for the pre-season tests.

Komatsu informed reporters, including those from F1.com, that they have chosen Esteban to drive, as he presents more complexities when it comes to fitting the driver into the car.

"Our main goal is to ensure that Esteban's setup is completely secure. This way, if any problems arise, we will have additional time to address them."

"We have a high level of confidence regarding Ollie's situation. While we also feel assured about Esteban, our confidence in Ollie's setup surpasses that of Esteban's."

Esteban is set to be the initial runner, followed by Ollie in the Bahrain shakedown. Consequently, Ollie will kick off the pre-season testing.

Haas, together with the other nine racing teams, is set to reveal its 2025 vehicle design at Formula 1's exclusive season launch event, which will be held at the O2 Arena in London on February 18.

Haas aims for stable performance in 2025

Last season, Haas secured seventh place in the constructors’ championship, achieving their highest finish since 2018.

Komatsu, who assumed the role of team principal after Guenther Steiner was removed from the position around this time last year, is eager for the American team to enhance the consistency they showed in 2024.

"I am focused on achieving consistency," he stated. "Last year, we secured a seventh-place finish. Looking back at Haas's history, I don't believe we've maintained a competitive performance consistently from season to season."

"In my view, it was motivating to see our competitiveness grow over the course of last season. We ended up earning the highest number of points in the final quarter of the year. After Monza, the only time we didn't score was in Brazil, which was a positive sign."

"I aim to maintain that same degree of consistency, but I anticipate that the competition will be more intense this year. Teams like Alpine, Williams, Sauber, and Red Bull are all likely to improve. Consequently, I'm unsure how congested the midfield will become, but I predict it will be closely contested."

On Tuesday, Haas revealed that Laura Muller would take on the role of F1's pioneering female race engineer, marking a significant overhaul of the team's staff.

Muller is set to communicate directly with Ocon, whereas Ronan O’Hare will handle engineering duties for Bearman. Both individuals have been elevated from their previous positions as performance engineers.

Reports from Italy and F1.com indicate that Ferrari has contingency plans ready due to the expected unfavorable weather conditions in the Modena region this week.

Should adverse circumstances persist, Ferrari can quickly relocate the event to either Imola or Mugello.

Ferrari is making every effort to ensure that Hamilton's first test remains confidential, as there are worries that supporters might gather at the location.
