Lewis Hamilton Addresses Mercedes Strategy Misstep Amidst Departure Rumors: Unity and Focus Prevail
Lewis Hamilton responds to concerns about his bond with Mercedes following tactical error
"He concurred with that suggestion," he mentions regarding tyre decision in Singapore
Lewis Hamilton maintains that the atmosphere within the Mercedes team remains calm, even after a tactical error during the F1 Singapore Grand Prix.
Hamilton secured a strong third position on the starting grid after a splendid qualifying session, but he ended the race in sixth place, trailing behind his teammate George Russell.
Choosing soft tyres, a contrast to the choices of many competitors, led to an early pit stop. Hamilton expressed his frustration through the team's radio communication.
Wolff later acknowledged that the tire strategy chosen for Hamilton was mistaken.
Hamilton has now spoken out regarding concerns surrounding his bond with Mercedes, which he is set to depart from at the conclusion of this year to embark on a new journey with Ferrari.
"Hey everyone, gearing up for a weekend dedicated to preparing for the upcoming race," Hamilton shared on his social media.
"There's been significant discussion about our recent approach in Singapore, which unfortunately didn't pan out as planned."
It's understandable to feel annoyed and for me, it's quite simple to express that irritation when such situations occur.
"Initiating the race with soft tyres was recognized as a daring and potentially hazardous strategy, yet it was believed to potentially offer us a starting edge. I ultimately concurred with this suggestion."
We also incorrectly predicted the actions of others.
Rest assured, everything is fine within the group.
"Like any fruitful collaboration, experiencing some down moments is essential to enjoy the peaks."
"We don't shy away from difficult discussions or tough situations, which has been key to our collective success."
"We'll stand by one another until the very last moment."
"Pure affection. Catch you in Austin."
