Russell acknowledged that the FIA is "undoubtedly not the most stable organization" and noted that many drivers are "likely frustrated with the current circumstances."

He acknowledged that everyone is putting in maximum effort to perform their duties effectively. "The FIA experiences frequent changes, making it an unstable environment," he mentioned. "This instability might be the reason why implementing some of the desired changes has been difficult."

"After numerous conversations, they eventually allowed me entry," Tsunoda shared with reporters in Las Vegas.

"I almost had to return home. Everything's fine now, but fortunately, I'm still here. I was with my physiotherapist on the trip. Naturally, when you go through customs, you have to do it alone, correct?"

The official unexpectedly led me into the room, and during our conversation, I asked if I could bring along the individual I was planning to travel with. Perhaps he could assist in clarifying some more details about myself and the circumstances in Formula 1.

"They wouldn't let me bring them in or contact anyone. I wanted to reach out to the team or perhaps F1 for assistance, but inside that room, there was nothing I could do."

"I handled all the visa arrangements myself," he said. "It's been unfortunate. I suppose with the previous three instances, I was able to enter without any issues. So it was unexpected to be stopped and have an in-depth conversation this time."

The young man, aged 24, believes that his attire might have caused the authorities to question his identity as a Formula 1 driver.

"I'm not sure, perhaps I was in pajamas, and the color might resemble something else. It just seems like they were putting a lot of pressure on me, and I was unable to speak up," he explained.

"I feel that if I speak up, it might cause more problems for me. Fortunately, everything went well."

Aged 25, this driver is the sole competitor who can, by mathematical chance, prevent Verstappen from clinching his fourth F1 drivers' championship at the Las Vegas Grand Prix this coming weekend.

One reason why Norris isn't more competitive with Verstappen in the championship standings is that McLaren didn't fully support him as their leading driver until the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in September.

In the Austria sprint race, Norris fell to third place, losing a point to Oscar Piastri, after trying to overtake Verstappen.

He had to let Piastri pass him during the race in Hungary, allowing the Australian driver to secure his first-ever Formula 1 win.

During the race in Monza, Piastri aggressively pursued Norris right from the beginning, which exposed him to an attack from Charles Leclerc.

If those three situations had turned out positively for Norris, along with some luck regarding events in Austria, the USA, and Mexico, he might have been a significantly bigger contender in the championship battle.

In an interview with Sky Sports News, Brundle expressed that McLaren has been backing Norris and believes they shouldn't sideline a promising talent like Piastri by issuing team orders too early.

"Definitely not," Brundle stated. "Lando made it clear that he had no interest in winning a world championship if it meant his teammate had to keep giving him advantages."

"McLaren understands that they cannot simply treat Oscar Piastri as a secondary driver and must give him every chance to succeed, as failing to do so can be mentally challenging and damaging to his reputation and credibility."

McLaren is set to win their first Formula 1 constructors' championship since 1998.

Brundle believes that McLaren has likely gained significant insights from their recent resurgence to the top of the rankings.

He mentioned that McLaren has gained some valuable experience this year, as they are leading the pack for the first time in many years.

The driver from the Netherlands has the potential to be only the second person in Formula 1 history, following Sebastian Vettel, to achieve four consecutive championship victories from the start of their career.

Despite Verstappen holding a 62-point lead over Norris, McLaren has demonstrated superior performance since the Imola race.

During an appearance on the Sky Sports F1 podcast before the Vegas event, Croft commended Verstappen for his achievements in 2024, especially given that he hasn't been driving the quickest car.

Croft remarked, "Should Max Verstappen secure another victory in Vegas like he achieved last year and subsequently clinch the championship, it would be outstanding. Kudos to him."
