Jorge Martin Vows to Bounce Back After Heartbreaking Crash Costs Him German MotoGP Lead
Jorge Martin responds to falling from the forefront of the German MotoGP, vowing, "This will be a learning experience for me. I am determined to return to victory."
With just two laps remaining, Jorge Martin was on the verge of increasing his lead in the MotoGP World Championship by securing a flawless second win in Germany.
However, the situation took a disastrous turn when he misjudged the first turn during the second-to-last lap, causing him to slide off the track. This mistake handed both the race win and the lead in the championship standings to Francesco Bagnaia, leaving the Pramac Ducati competitor dismayed and holding his head in disbelief.
"Analyzing the situation is challenging right now, so I can't provide much detail," Martin conveyed to TNT Sports.
"I believe we performed exceptionally well today until the mishap occurred. It's definitely disappointing. It's unfortunate that after such a stellar performance in the race, we encounter this setback, but we must press on."
"We need to rise again. I believe today marks a significant moment in my professional journey. I will take lessons from this experience. I'll return to my winning ways, and that's all there is to it.”
"Throughout the weekend, we've faced significant challenges with the front end," Martin shared, in response to inquiries about any prior indications.
"Corner 1 was a notable spot, yet crashing there was unforeseen. Indeed, I sensed some shifts happening, but it seemed insignificant."
"Thus, we must proceed and undoubtedly embrace this situation."
Martin will have the summer holiday to reflect on his error before he heads to Silverstone early next month, trailing Bagnaia by 10 points.
