Jack Miller Rejects Test Rider Role, Eyes Racing Future Amidst Search for New MotoGP Team for 2025
Jack Miller openly expresses his opinion on considering a test rider position in MotoGP
For the 2025 season, KTM's Jack Miller is actively seeking a new team
Jack Miller has moved away from the possibility of taking on a test rider role in MotoGP for the upcoming season.
Miller continues to search for a motorcycle for the 2025 MotoGP roster as his choices become increasingly limited.
The KTM team racer is aware that he's set to be succeeded at his current brand, yet he's not interested in stepping back from professional racing.
"Currently, I don't even see myself in that position because I don't view myself as a test rider," Miller was cited by Motorsport.
"I find immense pleasure in this, particularly in racing. The testing aspect doesn't excite me as much, but I engage in it because I appreciate the effort involved and the pursuit of an objective.
"However, the idea of merely riding a motorcycle in continuous loops fails to thrill me."
"Taking to the track and battling it out against 22 other riders is my purpose for being here. As for what lies ahead, it's uncertain, but my sole desire is to compete in races."
In the previous year, KTM transitioned Pol Espargaro from his position as a primary racer to a test rider, a role in which Dani Pedrosa also serves.
Miller expressed dissatisfaction with KTM's management of his departure, stating he was initially advised against negotiating with competing teams as his career path was supposedly being arranged.
However, according to Miller, he was informed via a phone call three hours prior to the official announcement that he would not be included in the next season's lineup.
KTM has announced Pedro Acosta as the new teammate for Brad Binder for the upcoming season.
The Tech3 KTM squad has secured the services of Maverick Vinales and Enea Bastianini, even though Miller was open to joining their team.
Currently, Miller is in search of a new group to join.
Positions are available at Gresini Ducati, Trackhouse Aprilia, and the newly launched Pramac Yamaha initiative.
However, the rivalry is intense, with numerous existing riders unemployed and various Moto2 competitors aspiring to advance.
