During the second practice round at the Spanish Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton delivered an impressive performance, securing the fastest time, narrowly edging out Carlos Sainz by a mere 0.022 seconds.
Mercedes has once again proven to be a strong contender, similarly to their previous showing in Canada where George Russell secured the pole position and achieved the team's first podium finish of the season.
Lando Norris finished just a tenth of a second behind Hamilton's leading time, securing third place in the second free practice session.
Alpine experienced their most successful day of the year, with Pierre Gasly securing the fourth position on the leaderboard.
Initial Session
Norris made a strong start to the Spanish Grand Prix weekend by leading the pack in the first practice session.
Norris narrowly edged out Max Verstappen by less than one-tenth of a second after posting the fastest time in the initial sector, whereas the Dutch driver maintained a slight lead in the last two sectors of the lap.
Sainz finished in the top three, achieving his fastest lap on the less quick medium tires.
