Scottish legal authorities are reviewing a new report submitted by police who are heading the investigation into the financial dealings of the SNP.
Since 2021, investigators have been examining the finances of the party, and recently indicted former CEO Peter Murrell for his alleged involvement in misappropriation of funds.
The man, 59, is married to ex-First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.
She is also under suspicion in the probe but maintains her innocence after being detained in 2023.
Former treasurer of the SNP, Colin Beattie, was recently detained and subsequently released without any charges being filed against him.
Chief Constable Jo Farrell of Police Scotland informed Sky News recently that the investigation involving Ms. Sturgeon and Mr. Beattie is still active.
It has come to light that high-ranking officials reached out to the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) in August seeking advice and direction on how to proceed.
