Eddie Jordan Quashes Rumors of Adrian Newey’s Ferrari Move as Speculation Mounts
"Eddie Jordan dismisses rumors" – Eddie Jordan refutes allegations of Adrian Newey's confirmed move to Ferrari
Eddie Jordan addresses rumors suggesting Adrian Newey's imminent transfer to Ferrari.
Former Formula 1 team proprietor Eddie Jordan has refuted claims that Adrian Newey is set to switch to Ferrari by 2025.
Before the Miami Grand Prix took place this month, Red Bull disclosed that Newey would part ways with the team in the early months of the next year.
The statement concluded a period of rumors regarding Newey's career prospects amidst doubts surrounding Red Bull.
Newey is universally acclaimed as the most accomplished designer in F1 history, having been a key contributor to numerous championship victories with teams such as Williams, McLaren, and Red Bull throughout his career.
With Newey available for the upcoming year, it's natural that various teams are showing interest.
Ferrari is considered the leading candidate to secure Newey's signature, though McLaren and Williams continue to show interest.
Jordan, acting as Newey's representative, refuted speculations about the Red Bull individual transitioning to Maranello, indicating that a final decision remains pending.
On the Formula for Success podcast, Jordan mentioned, "It's quite incorrect to be so explicit about [Newey] moving to a specific team.
"As someone with insight, I can assure you, without revealing any specifics, that these kinds of conversations are not taking place at any point."
"Discussions are planned, and there will be continuous negotiations, as we still need to determine Adrian's own preferences."
At the age of 65, Newey could consider retiring.
Up until now, Newey has suggested his interest in staying with F1, driven by the competitive nature and the upcoming rule changes in 2026.
Jordan emphasized that it remains uncertain which team Newey will become a part of.
"It's important to emphasize that the choice ultimately rests with Adrian, as it rightfully should. However, there's no definitive direction," he further stated.
"I am entirely confident about it. Currently, there's no tendency to lean towards any specific direction.
"We're exploring potential avenues and inviting individuals to engage with us in conversation."
