Aston Martin Secures Major F1 Technical Talent from Ferrari in Ambitious Drive Towards Front-Runner Status
Aston Martin secures a significant addition to their technical team by acquiring Ferrari's F1 chassis director in a strategic move.
Aston Martin has revealed that they have secured Enrico Cardile, the chassis technical director from Ferrari, as part of their team.
In 2025, Cardile is set to become Aston Martin's chief technical officer, a move that follows his confirmed exit from Ferrari this past Monday.
"Cardile expressed enthusiasm about becoming a part of Aston Martin, stating, 'The vision and passion are evident, and it presents a distinctive chance to contribute to this path.'"
"I'm eager to tackle this challenge both personally and professionally, and I'm excited to collaborate with the team to drive success for this renowned brand."
This signifies the most recent effort in a significant hiring initiative by Aston Martin, as the UK team aims to achieve its goals of consistently leading in the sport.
Aston Martin has recently onboarded Andy Cowell, the ex-chief of Mercedes' engine division, who is set to begin his role as the chief executive officer in October.
"Lawrence Stroll, the team owner, is thrilled to have Enrico join the Aston Martin Aramco, aiming to bolster the technical leadership crew in anticipation of the major regulatory updates set for 2026."
"I'm excited that we keep bringing in top-tier talent to our team. Enrico and I share a drive to excel in F1, and he'll have access to all the necessary resources to achieve that goal. With Andy Cowell coming on board as Group CEO in October, alongside our current leadership, we're assembling an impressive team."
Aston Martin's team leader, Mike Krack, expressed his excitement about bringing Enrico into the fold at Aston Martin Aramco. He highlighted Enrico's almost two decades of expertise with Ferrari, noting that this addition would bring a new dimension to the team's technical approach.
"This appointment marks a significant milestone for our team as we prepare for the upcoming 2026 rules – a crucial phase in our progression."
Stroll's squad is rumored to be making a bold move to attract Formula 1 engineering icon Adrian Newey after his departure from Red Bull in the beginning of 2025.
