Staff from Alpine F1 are organizing a demonstration at Monza
Employees of Renault's Formula 1 engine division are planning a non-violent demonstration at Monza to express their opposition to Alpine's decision to switch to Mercedes engines starting in 2026. The protest is scheduled to occur in the stands on Friday.
In addition to the demonstration, employees at the Viry-Chatillon facility, which is the hub for Renault's engine production, plan to strike over the Italian Grand Prix weekend as a form of protest against the decision to shift from engines made in France.
"An Alpine announcement acknowledged awareness of certain events organized by Viry personnel for the upcoming weekend."
Based on their messages, it's clear that these demonstrations will be non-violent and won't affect the functioning of the team.
Alpine's management is currently in the process of reviewing the transformation project, and a final decision has not yet been made.
"Ever since the project's unveiling to the Viry employee representatives in July, ongoing discussions have been crucial for Alpine's leadership team and will continue in the weeks ahead."

Lando Norris shares his strategies for managing stress and anxiety
McLaren driver Lando Norris has disclosed that he hardly consumes any food or beverages before a race, attributing this to the anxiety and stress associated with the need to excel in competition.
"The feeling of pressure never fades. Even now, I experience intense nerves before qualifying rounds. Similarly, when it comes to the races, my excitement and anxiety remain at peak levels," he confessed on Thursday.
On Sundays, I find it difficult to consume any food or beverages due to anxiety and stress.
The key lies in transforming the situation into something beneficial. The question is, how can one prevent it from negatively impacting them and instead, leverage it to concentrate on the right aspects?
Every time you participate in a qualifying lap and need to perform, it fills you with nervous excitement due to the immense pressure and anxiety. A single mistake, such as braking a moment too late, turning incorrectly, or any slight error, and it's all over. Your chance is gone.
"It's an incredible sensation simultaneously, one that I believe is hard to duplicate in numerous other sports and activities. I'm somewhat uncertain, but I still experience anxiety and likely always will."
F1 racers express disappointment over alterations at Monza circuit
Multiple Formula 1 racers have expressed their worries regarding alterations to certain kerbs at the Monza track, which has also undergone significant resurfacing.
Modifications have altered the appearance of certain curbs, with some undergoing a total replacement.
George Russell from Mercedes, serving as the GPDA director, commented that alterations to the kerbs at Ascari will diminish the awe factor of the renowned turn.
"In my opinion, it's quite unfortunate since there was a significant amount of charm involved. Specifically, regarding Ascari, I believe the alterations to the kerbs might lessen its appeal."
"Frankly, I'm not sure who is responsible for these choices. I believe it's not the FIA but rather the circuits that have the final say. We've consistently emphasized the importance of maintaining these traditional tracks that are full of unique charm; it's crucial that we do everything possible to protect them."
Daniel Ricciardo, the 2021 Monza Grand Prix victor, commented: “The kerbs have been altered. I must admit, I'm not thrilled; certain aspects have diminished in uniqueness.
"Curbs give a racing track its distinctive character. Introducing flat curbs…
At the second chicane, a narrow strip of concrete was followed by a patch of gravel. Drivers aimed to keep their tires on the concrete section, utilizing the track optimally without overdoing it.
"It used to be quite traditional, but that's no longer the case. The new surface is impressive, yet the curbs leave much to be desired."
Lewis Hamilton is highly enthusiastic about nurturing a bond with Tifosi.
Lewis Hamilton expresses his immense enthusiasm for fostering a deeper connection with Ferrari's devoted followers, the Tifosi, as he prepares for his transition to Maranello the following year.
"I'm curious to see how it turns out this year. For instance, at Imola, the welcome I received was incredibly warm," Hamilton mentioned in response to inquiries about the anticipated reception at Monza, the home race for Ferrari.
"Truly, I'm extremely thrilled. Each year, making my way here and witnessing, when you're on the podium and you observe the Tifosi stretching all the way to Turn 1, and honestly, around the globe."
"I'm not entirely sure what lies ahead, but I'm genuinely excited about engaging with the community and embarking on this path together as we aim to advance the team."
