Yamaha Announces Paolo Pavesio as Successor to Lin Jarvis, Set to Take Helm in 2025
Yamaha has announced that Paolo Pavesio will take over as managing director in 2025, succeeding Lin Jarvis.
Paolo Pavesio has been appointed to take over Lin Jarvis' role at Yamaha.
Starting January 1, 2025, Pavesio is set to take on the role of managing director at Yamaha Motor Racing.
Before, he held the position of Director of Marketing and Motorsport at Yamaha Motor Europe, where he reorganized the motorsport department, leading to their subsequent victories in the World Superbikes, EWC, and MXGP world championships.
Pavesio is taking over from Jarvis, who has been the head of Yamaha for 26 years and will be stepping
Jarvis guided Yamaha to secure eight rider championships, six manufacturer championships, and seven team championships. He managed the peak periods of the Japanese company with Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, along with their latest championship win with Fabio Quartararo.
Even though Jarvis is stepping down from his role as managing director, he will continue to serve as a Senior Advisor at Yamaha.
Takahiro Sumi, who serves as the General Manager of Yamaha's Motor Sports Development Division, expressed his gratitude to Lin for his 26 years of commitment and accomplishments, both on a personal level and on behalf of the company.
"His dedication, hard work, and leadership have played a crucial role in Yamaha's achievements in MotoGP. I'm pleased that we will continue to benefit from his expertise and experience in the future."
Paolo Pavesio will take over the position of Managing Director from Lin. Pavesio comes with extensive experience from his time at YME, where he served as the Marketing and Motorsport Director and led Yamaha teams to win World Championship titles in WorldSBK, EWC, and MXGP.
"I am excited about Paolo joining YMR in January, and I believe that with his leadership, Yamaha can achieve the future success in MotoGP that we are all aiming for."
