**”Alex Marquez Denies Deliberate Collision Accusations in Aragon MotoGP Incident with Francesco Bagnaia”**
Alex Marquez has firmly denied allegations that he intentionally collided with Francesco Bagnaia. He emphasized that such actions go against both his personal principles and the ethos of the sport.
Alex Marquez has issued a response after coming across certain comments following his collision with Francesco Bagnaia during the Aragon MotoGP event on Sunday.
The duo encountered a severe crash when Bagnaia tried to overtake the Gresini competitor for the third position, following Marquez's wide run.
The FIM Stewards concluded that 'no further measures' were necessary as 'neither rider was found to be mainly at fault'.
However, Marquez appears displeased with Bagnaia's remarks implying that the Gresini rider maintained acceleration instead of steering clear of a collision.
"Bagnaia explained to MotoGP.com that he heard his opponent accelerating just as he entered the next corner. It was clear that his rival was attempting to make contact."
"I examined the data and noticed that the rider kept the throttle open at 40 percent and 60 percent up until the point of the crash. This behavior seems quite unusual to me."
On Monday, Marquez shared a post on social media:
“Having reviewed several statements, I would like to clarify the following points:
"I would never intentionally collide with another competitor, and I refuse to be accused of doing so. It's against my principles and the essence of this sport."
"The conversation I had with Pecco yesterday is what matters most to me, and as far as I'm concerned, the matter is resolved."
"Now it's time to take a break and rejuvenate so I can be fully prepared for Misano."
Marquez and Bagnaia were lucky to steer clear of major injuries and are set to race again at Misano this weekend.
Marc Marquez, who is Alex's brother and teammate, claimed victory in the Aragon race. However, Jorge Martin secured second place, extending his lead over Bagnaia to 23 points.
