Tragedy Strikes Eastern China: 11 Dead, Including Children and Parents, in School Bus Crash
In eastern China, a tragic incident occurred when a bus collided with a group of people outside a school, resulting in the deaths of 5 children and 6 adults. Following the crash, which also left many injured, the bus driver was taken into custody by the police. This incident comes shortly after national media highlighted new safety protocols to protect students.
On Tuesday morning in eastern China, a bus collided with a group of people in front of a junior high school, resulting in 11 deaths and 24 injuries.
State-run CCTV reported that the accident took place at approximately 7 a.m. outside Foshan Junior High School in Dongping County, Shandong Province, on the second day of the school year.
According to the report, the injured were transported to the hospital.
Authorities in Dongping reported that among the deceased were six parents and five students. Additionally, one individual sustained severe injuries, while twelve others are currently in stable condition. The status of the remaining victims has not been disclosed.
Authorities reported that the vehicle involved was a school bus assigned to transport students. It veered off course and collided with a group of people as it neared an intersection. Law enforcement has since taken the driver into custody, and an investigation into the incident is underway.
