Tragedy Strikes Eastern China: 11 Dead as School Bus Plows into Crowd
In eastern China, a tragic incident occurred when a bus struck a group of people outside a school, resulting in the deaths of five children and six adults. Following the crash, which also left many injured, authorities detained the bus driver. This catastrophe comes shortly after national outlets reported on new policies intended to protect students.
On Tuesday morning, a bus collided with a group of people outside a middle school in eastern China, resulting in 11 deaths and 24 injuries.
State-run CCTV reported that the accident happened at approximately 7 a.m. outside Foshan Junior High School in Dongping County, Shandong Province, on the second day of the new academic year.
According to the report, the injured were transported to the hospital.
According to Dongping police, the tragic incident resulted in the deaths of six parents and five students. Additionally, one individual sustained severe injuries, while 12 others are currently in stable condition. The status of the remaining victims has not been disclosed.
Authorities reported that a school bus, which was used to transport students, lost control as it neared an intersection and collided with a group of people. The bus driver has been taken into custody and an investigation into the incident is underway.
